More than pleasantly surprised to see Necrodeath, Blasphemy, Master's Hammer and Tormentor being included here. Too many people forget how incredible that late 1st wave of black metal was from countries that weren't Scandinavian. In terms of how many war metal bands followed in their wake, Blasphemy might be one of the most influential bands here. And Goddess of Perversity is a sick riff.

Jesus loves everyone i don't know everyone's story or what happened to everyone yet, Jesus loves all! Black metal is the most beautiful metal to me as a Christian i love everything but the ungodly lyrics and i don't like the way they do their vocals as i prefer at most just clean pure shouting over the vocal style of black metal. I want to hear christian black metal for Jesus without the black metal vocal style just clean pure shouting and what not! I will probably never understand the pain that some people gone through so i will never be of true comfort i just wish everyone comes to Jesus but everyone must make their choice unfortunately... I love everyone coming from a goody two shoes Haitian man not without his flaws since birth till up to this day (I'm 26yo by the way) experincing witchcraft used against me and seeing witches, demons and zombies in my dreams since childhood! I love everyone yet, God loves everyone more than me and no greater Love than for one to die for your friends and Jesus died for His enemies! HALLELUYAH HAIL JESUS!!! ❤💚💙🤍✝️✌️😁👍

At the same time, this is a good reminder of how important role the Soviet composers of the first half of the 20th century (e.g. Dmitri Shostakovich & Sergei Prokofiev) play in the development of Black Metal's musical language. Sure, Black Sabbath has a part to play in the emergence of this style, but Black Metal is one of the very few styles of the modern age Western popular music that has no direct links to the blues.
