Notes: Brass saddles are classically used to darken/reduce brightness, steel saddles to increase brightness (if you believe in that sort of stuff, most players swap parts and put new strings on a guitar at the same time and it's the new vs old strings that changed the tone) some mix a steel saddle on the E/A and brass on the other four strings ... Other than the Nashville SSS, for a standard SS Tele I like the Les Paul Junior mod of putting a 4-way switch on it for both pickups in series for a stealth humbucker tone. ... I also do the Kirchen mod that is rotating the control plate for Vol-Tone-Switch to the rear.

Be cool to buy one of those and do a Micawber mod on it! I have an old original Fender (from when I lived in Orange County near the original Fullerton factory) bridge piece for that guitar. Put some brass like you did...cool!

Cool color with the black binding on it, I´d put all black hardware on it, I bet It would looks so cool! Talking about black control plate and buttons, black bridge but keep the brass saddles, black cover on neck pickup, maybe some black pickguard with a nice pattern on it, like Paisley or something and black tuners!

All telecasters should have 6 individual saddles, far better than 3, compensated or not.

People are superstitious about that. I prefer being perfectly in tune, even if the tone is 1% different.

Sweet mods, Definitely paint the screws give it a sleeker look.

i love the enthusiasm you have ,any tweeks or mods to find a more versatile instrument is worth the effort, iv`e just fitted a four way toggle and treble bleed on my own and a convention defying bridge pan with SIX saddles because its essential to intonate ANY guitar accurately..........😇👍

Great mods! I’m going to go for the TR vintage plus and the obsidian with 4way splitter. Can you share where you bought the pickguard and the model, please? I’m trying to replace mine for a simple black one but I need one that fits perfectly 🤷♂️

Put T.V. Jones Starwood pickups in my 40th. With a mojotone soiderless harness. Bought the guitar for $360 American. So, it is still affordable to do. Play it all the time.

You can just get the brass saddles. Don't have to buy a new bridge. I put a 4-way switch in my CV50. Gives me the two pickups in series. I don't mind the stock pickups, I think they sound great, but I'd say 90% of the time I use the traditional middle position (both pickups in parallel), and the other 10% I use the bridge. I know I put that 4-way in, but I really don't use the in series option that much, except when I'm setting up tones on Genome and am trying to get that "metal sound." If you'd like a selector knob that stays on, there's a company called Forney Customs on Reverb that make nice metal tips that use a hex wrench to secure to the switch.

Its a great guitar for the money anyway but the obsidian wiring makes it extra special! 🔥

I like to use the 2 potential meters is volume control for one for each pick up and then I wire the switch as a tone control with a preset tone control switchable for the front pick up or tone control switchable for the back pick up with the middle position being straight through that way I could blend the pickups ! however I'd like my next 1 I'm gonna try is stacked tone volume with this set up ,, very interesting tones !!!

Thought about putting a set of Lindy Fralin Blues Specials in my 40th anniversary Squire tele. They're a third of the price of the guitar though so I dont know

I switched the stock wirng harness/pots to an Obsidian.. night and day . fantastic . then I decided to get a solderless from Tribute_Guitarworks and the plate has an angled switch to give more room between the switch and volume knob ...... Wow it's 10x better !

Freeway 10-way switch on a Nashville Tele is heaven. You can also get series options for bridge+middle, Bridge+Neck and middle+neck. Tonerider tele pups are nice. The neck pickup is 42guage wire, rather than the traditional 43, so is a bit like a Fender "twisted Tele" pickup in that respect.

how come a tele with brass saddles has more high end but humbuckers with brass base plates sound muffled?
@PherotoneStudios8 ай бұрын
Brass around a pickup removes the high end
@eertje018 ай бұрын
@@PherotoneStudios Yes nickel is far superior. as for brass saddles; in my experience it 'rounds off' the highs. the standard chrome covered saddles make tele pickups too ice picky
@lone-wolf-18 ай бұрын
In your question brass has two different ways of influence. On/around pickups an "electrical" effect, altering the magnetic field. On saddles they have a mechanical influence on string vibration 😊

Good luck selling that stuff big fella. The used market is dead.
@PherotoneStudiosАй бұрын
You’re not wrong. I think the entire guitar market has died. No one has any money and people seem to have lost interest in guitars

Use an Eq pedal you don’t need a new bridge. Ways of money. Those three post 1950s bridge are out of date.
