I love batch-cooking meals and ingredients in advance because they actually taste better one or several days later if stored properly in air-tight containers, the ingredients have had a chance to blend and soups, stews, fruit salads actually taste better.

I would never share details of my diet with work colleagues, neighbours, some family members and friends who aren't WFPB or are very overweight - they might well turn into "frenemies" out of jealousy the moment you lose weight. They can end up undermining your efforts out of jealousy, especially if they can't lose weight themselves - misery loves company. If you do discuss your diet freely, you give others permission to comment on and criticise anything you eat. I keep it to myself except when I'm among friends who are also vegan or WFPB or interested in health, fitness and being a healthy weight. I find the online community of strangers fantastic, we usually all want the same thing and can support each other directly or indirectly, simply by being there, commenting on a video, etc.

The only processed foods I eat are very plain, low-oil falafel and hummus, simply because it would be too much hassle to make them at home, hummus doesn't freeze well and it's just me so it would be a lot of work. They're also quite cheap to buy. Other than that, I'm wholly WFPB.

When I go out, I either ask for tap water or carry my own herbal tea in a thermos flask. I won't buy expensive, fattening coffees in principle because they're so unhealthy and overpriced. I never eat out or get takeaways, in fact I don't feel hungry when I'm out because I'm busy walking or shopping or seeing an art exhibition, boredom often leads to eating but when I'm out and about I'm never bored, and I never regret a walk, I love walking in nature, as long as I'm dressed for the weather I feel good. But if I were out the whole day I would carry a packet of vacuum-packed chestnuts, which are also light to carry.
