Thanks for the spotlight! I've been working on v3 of android tv card all week and just released it. It's mostly a rewrite/refactor that improves stability of some components like the slider (which no longer requires another add on) and adds better style options.

Chine TTS. When I call service from Developer tools to play on Alexa Echo it announces, "To send tts set public url in integration configuration", no mention of this in documentation! Any help greatly appreciated. Great videos as always, thanks.

This was added few days after the video was released - I've already answered it here in comments . you need to use Alexa specific service.

I don't use Alexa speakers - but if you have Alexa_Media HACS component installed and you can see those speakers in Home Assistant as media_player, there shouldn't be any difference to other media players. There were some issues with Alexa, but more or less, everything was fixed.

My Volume Slider isn't even showing up despite using the same source code. Even, as guided, I uploaded the slider card ( I run HA from docker)

Did you CTRL+F5 (on PC) to clear cache and reload? Also, new version that was released today should have slider included in component, so no external component is needed.

@@BeardedTinker Yes I did. Let me elaborate on the whole set of issues: (Hardware: Raspberry Pi, Monitor: TV(HDMI) Platform: Docker) A. I did refresh. Browser's slider is working perfectly fine but the slider is not displayed in my companion app. I presume the whole purpose of slider was that. The irony is that even if I press the volume button on the browser's slider, it gives an error that my TV doesn't support this service of media_player/volume_set B. On Keyboard: only the backspace works and gives fail to call service error (androidtv/adb_command) on pressing any other key C. As haptic space is large, even the accidental touch there in my companion app opens up the TV while closed which makes no sense to me. I do not understand 🤔

I did all the chime tts steps but it doesn't work I have alexas for the tts and I can't get the message to say or the tone to sound, could you tell me if alexa doesn't work and if it's only for Google, thank you very much, excellent video

As Alexa speakers are dumbest device of them all, they require different approach. I guess you already have Alexa Media Player installed - if yes, try this: github.com/nimroddolev/chime_tts/wiki/chime_tts.say_url It will create URL you can pass for Alexa media player.

Check on github with author. I haven't tried working with Alexa and ChimeTTS combo as I don't find Alexa speakers good enough compared to other available options.

Testing chime service with a longer message (Google Translate, apple homepod mini speaker) I've noticed it cuts the message (service) suddenly after a few seconds. Works with short messages. But it's really interesting.

Haven't tested it with something longer than 4-5 words. Did you maybe open issue on GIthub for this?

I have checked temp folder (/media/sounds/temp/chime_tts) and it seems messages are generated and merged with sound properly (they are complete). That can be homepod reaction, it accepts google tts (apple tv integration), but speaker blocks other attempts (like chime). There was a problem with it in HA2023, solved in 2023.5 or 6 (if I recall well). If anyone could test it first with longer sentences or other speakers, that would help to replicate the issue and then it may have sense to open it on Github. It is not a critical service. @@BeardedTinker

Not quite sure what you mean…you can simply skip the chime path fields to not play any chimes.

@@FMaranhas You can turn that off through the Google Home app. Go to the speaker settings, accessibility, unselect "start sound"
