Love it. Loaded hip extension is so critical for all lower extremity problems! I can’t tell you how often therapists miss this piece in foot and ankle rehab especially. 1. Standing isometric lunge hold for 5 breaths 2. Half kneeling hip extension stretch with ribs bent forward. 3. End range isometric elevated split squat with rectus femoris emphasis

I consume a ton of Kelly's content (and admittedly follow at most 20%, because I don't make time for it). This has helped tremendously with my low back issues.

I really think this is a fantastic tool for a multi-faceted backpain prevention tool!

Great videos Kelly - thank you so much. Do you think it's possible to achieve a full splits at the age of 55? I've been practicing martial arts since age 13 and have very good flexibility and mobility, but have never been able to do the splits. I introduced PNF a few years ago and have had a great increase in flexibility. Do you think there's an age where you just don't improve anymore?

Thankyou for those tips but my question is what can I do to enable me to jump, because I had a stroke and I can’t run or jump!!
@wakka7644 жыл бұрын
You need to speak to a heart doctor and have a program catered around what you can and cannot do.

3:55, very curious as to why we wouldn't want turn butt off and go further, to get even more opening and stretch thru the hips. Isn't the point to open the hips as much as we can? why focus on butt squeeze and limit the amount of stretch we can get? Thanks for the great content!

If i have hip pinching when i walk should i limit walking untill symptoms go down? This hip pain started when i do hipflexor stretches wrong (i think that i stretched frontal part of hip capsule most) and now that extension is that what cause most pain..

So hip opener was not necessarily only stretches.
@liamhopkins294 жыл бұрын
Exactly! seems to me that passive stretching is the least effective thing we can be doing while trying to improving mobility and joint function.
@jungholee37934 жыл бұрын
What I actually mean is that isometric work could be deemed to be a "opener"
