As a Hmong, my only words to our Hmong folks: "It is not the U.S. Government fault but yours when the U.S government already gave you chance to become U.S citizen so you can help build the country economically and politically but you chose not to". Oh shut up, it's not only hmongs families that fought in the war alongside the US that suffered but those who were not apart of it also suffered. Either you choose to fought along side GVP or you were either fighting for the other side and fighting against your own ppl either way it a choice that was hard to make. If the US never came to us in the first place we would not be involve, how many people have fought and died in the process, do we now then take their death in vain. If anything, any hmong person that have been affected or even part of that war that been over here up till the date that this law was past, if they have committed any crime then let them be sentenced and given trial as any Americans, why deportation?!?! If anything, any hmong person or families that have been affected by the war during that time, if have committed any crime let them be sentence and punish as any americans would. Why deporations?!? Why are we looked at differently when at the end of the day, regardless if you fought with the US or not during that time both side suffered due to the fact that we as hmong are involve. You either fought with the US or fought against your people against those whose sided with the US. And dont think that those who stay behind was treated as kings and civilians, our people are always mistreated rather by laos soldiers or vietnam, even during France occupations our people have been mistreated.
