I really like you building all of these todies with tea, and different teas for each one. I've never been a coffee drinker, but outside of cocktails the other beverage category I dive deep into is tea. This episode makes me want to try mixing tea and cocktails more often. Smoky lapsong suchong leaps to mind, or green tea with more delicate or herbal spirits (gin maybe). I see a lot to play with here.

Love these ideas! My go-to toddy is Irish whiskey, Earl grey tea, honey syrup, lemon peel. Time to branch out :) I also have a video suggestion/request: pre-mix-able batch-able recipes. I'm thinking of a cozy winter cabin weekend with friends. So far I'm considering the Brooklyn, Coffee Negroni, or Vieux Carré. All can be made ahead, pre-diluted and chilled, just need the citrus peel finish. Totally beats dragging a bunch of bottles and tools along, not to mention fresh ingredients getting not-so-fresh. A set of summer suggestions will be welcome too, for easy camping or just chill party prep!

I recently consumed a bunch of these to fight a sinus infection. And it worked! Chamomile tea, muddled half a lime, one oz of single pot overproof white rum, two oz 100 proof rye, 1.5 oz ginger syrup. And a whole dropper of chocolate reaper bitters I helped my cousin make. Built in the cup. Added hot water to fill at the end and stirred.

I LITERALLY just re-watched this video to see if I had what I needed to make the rum and black tea toddy because I don't have whiskey or honey. This is my first time getting to try one of your recipes, and I had to improvise on the ingredients, but WOW is this tasty! 😀 Almost instantly my throat feels so much better. I used Diplomático aged rum, lemonade, and simple syrup. I don't have clove, but I did add a cinnamon stick as a stirrer. I hate black tea, but this makes it delicious. Now, I'm even MORE excited to try the other recipes you've made that are on my list ☺️

Anders! Your content has inspired my cocktail journey. I wanted to say thanks for that! I’ve come up with a recipe that I think is quite interesting and I would be, to use my favourite phrase, tickled pink if you were to try it! Island Distillation #4 1.5 Oz Brandy 3/4 Oz Orange Super Juice (6% acid adjusted) 1/2 Oz Coffee Liquor 1/4 Oz Semi-Rich Cinnamon Syrup The Story: I fell in love with the concept of Super Juice after watching Kevin Kos’ video on the subject. I decided to experiment with a way to use the orange Super Juice as it was the most novel. The initial recipe involved rum and tasted like a distillation of Jamaican Rum Punch. So I tinkered with the recipe until I arrived at what was Island Distillation #4 but with rum. It just didn’t quite taste right, and I had only begun my journey with Brandy. But the fruity notes of Brandy and the pairing with Orange and Coffee made me think it just might work. Shook up the cocktail and the results have been very well received thus far. Cheers! Matt

Hey! In Switzerland for Carneval (in Lucerne mostly) we do something similar, but way more basic. We take "Zwätschge", which is prune schnapps (40% abv), and put it into either mint or rosehip tea or alternatively very watery coffee(where you can read a newspaper through it). If you want you can add sugar. Maybe you could build something out of those ideas?

When I was a kid there were no cold medicines, no robotussin, no nyquil, no tylenol. Our mom made us a mix of tea, honey and a splash of whiskey and told us it would help. And it did.
