Storyline
Farhan Qureshi and Raju Rastogi want to re-unite with their fellow collegian, Rancho, after faking a stroke aboard an Air India plane, and excusing himself from his wife - trouser less - respectively. Enroute, they encounter another student, Chatur Ramalingam, now a successful businessman, who reminds them of a bet they had undertaken 10 years ago. The trio, while recollecting hilarious antics, including their run-ins with the Dean of Delhi's Imperial College of Engineering, Viru Sahastrabudhe, race to locate Rancho, at his last known address - little knowing the secret that was kept from them all this time.

+Kelly: That wasn't a beach towards the end of the film. Its the Pangong Tso (Pangong Lake) - highest salt water lake in the Himalayas. It is situated at a height of 14,270 feet (4,350 m) above sea level. It's 134 km long, 5 km wide. About 1/3 of the lake is in Ladakh, India with the remaining 2/3 being in Tibet, China. There's no marine life in the water as it is salty and it doesn't get freeze at zero degrees. It only freezes when temperatures go below -10 degrees. I've been to that lake and it looks no less than a heaven. It's one of the most remotest regions of India, which was not explored by Indians until we saw it in 3 idiots. 3i made that lake popular and now, food stalls near the lake have banners and boards with names like 3 idiots cafe, Rancho Food Corner, etc. :)

Craving Cinematics - Sadly, this film has ruined the beauty of the lake and its surroundings. Lake is located in the most remotest of regions of the northern part of India and since this film has released, people have started to go there in big numbers and they throw plastic, cans, bottles, packets everywhere near the lake without even understanding that nobody's there to clean the surroundings near the lake as its 93 mile away from residential town/city and like I said, its in the remote region so no garbage cleaning trucks could reach to this place due to extreme high altitude roads. One has to pass the 2nd highest motorable road in world Chang La (17,000 ft above sea level) to reach to this lake. :(

Craving Cinematics - I've been to Pangong lake in September 2015, and there's no other place in India as beautiful as this lake, really. I hope Indian army and government should restrict people from enterting the lake area in big numbers and also, should bring a rule which should restrict people from carrying plastic bottles, packets, etc. when they visit this lake.

Merry Christmas. Just FYI this has been remade in Mexico as 3 Idiotas, which is an abridged version so to speak. Jaaved Jaafri plays Ranchodas, the rich guy who hired Amir Khan to impersonate him. Chatur is actually played by Omi Vaidya who is an American and had appeared in a few minor parts on American television. After 3 idiots he got some opportunities in the Hindi film industry but both he and the films were disappointing both critically and commercially. He has since returned to bit parts in Hollywood movies and TV. Amir Khan was 44 years old during the shooting of this movie. Rajkumar Hirani began as an editor before writing and directing his first feature, the brilliant Munnabhai MBBS and followed it up with the sequel Lage raho Munna Bhai. Then came 3 idiots while his last movie was PK, again with Amir Khan. All are outstanding movies. Review or not, just watch them. You will love them.

Has anyone suggested to watch "Mardaani" featuring Rani Mukerji in the lead role, it was her comeback movie, and I thought she did an excellent job. It was on a very serious issue in India, it might be a little hard to watch, but it's realllly worth watching. Merry Christmas and awesome review!

Please try to watch tamil movie "nanban".... It is the remake of 3 idiots from Hindi language to tamil language with same story but different culture(3 idiots is north indian culture and nanban is south indian culture) and also different actors..... I think "nanban" is more funnier than 3 idiots..... So please try to watch and make a "comparison" review of these 2 movies
