I used to work in Ladakh and passed in front of the "Rancho School" almost every day... the sad part of the story is that this film brought Ladakh and especially Pangong Tso (the lake where the last scene is shot) into so much limelight that uncontrolled tourism there has now become a major challenge - from plastic waste to water management.

Fun fact: the scene where the 3 characters were drunk talking.. they were actually drunk in that scene.. R. Madhavan (Farhan Qureshi) reveled that it was Aamir's idea to be actually drunk for the scene to look it more realistic! So they sat to drink 45 mins prior to shoot and drank a couple of pegs and got drunk to do the scene!
