Yes, 18 images (or 18 frames) is ok if you don't care about the clarity of individual frame. Fluid animation fits that category.

Epson''s desktop printers probably don't have the precision. They probably work on low LPI lens but low LPI lens is meant for large print and desktop printer cannot print larger than letter size. Try an 8 x 10 print using 20 LPI may work though.

We calculate pitch for a set of resolution, lpi and paper. If we change the resolution of the image, then the pitch also changes. So will the image trasition be smooth and perfect?

i tried to make a flip image with 50 lpi and did all the tutorial but why the result is different when the line is horizontal not vertical like your video?

The grooves on the lens have to be parallel to the lines on the interlaced image.

75 LPI lens is very fine and the width of each lenticule is very narrow. Putting 4 pixels under each lenticule should be enough. So the final resolution of the images should be 4 x 75 = 300 LPI.

If your lens is 50 LPI you may want to have 6 pixels under each lenticules so the final resolution of the interlaced image is about 300 DPI. If your pitch test is result is 50.18, just as an example, then set the resolution of the images to 50.18 x 6 = 301.08.

3-image on 50 LPI lens is a little bit over-stretch. A 2-image flip will behave much better. But if you really want to do it, you can put 6 pixels under each lenticule; 2 pixels for each image. The resolution of your working image will be 6 x pitch test result. Say your pitch test result is 50.2, then the resolution will be 301.20.

What lenticular lens you are trying to use? It's really difficult to do a 5-image flip unless you use a very low line density lens such as 10 LPI. You can also use a high-density lens if you don't really care about the clarity of each frame but just to give the impression of change.

How about 20 LPI. If the difference between each image is not big, 20 LPI should still work with minimum ghosting. We can sell both 10 LPI and 20 LPI lenses to you if you need them.
