Love watching your videos. Took a micro miniature soldering class in the military and good to see someone who knows what they are doing. I cringe when some of the automotive guys repair wires on some of the KZbin channels.

Once Again, for the cost, that is a pretty well packed meter. And you were right about the 90's. Techs would have been blown away with a meter that comprised that many things in a hand held form!!

Jeff I went to tech school when they were still teaching vacume tubes... something like this would have been unheard of.... this think weighs a pound and my techtronix 455 (I think that was the model number.... ) weighed 25 pounds... oh and by the way amazon has it 30% off plus your %25 percent off for a final price of $105.52 ! Great video and thanks as usual for teaching a little along the way. Have a good day.

I mainly want a multimeter for use in finding out the charge in batteries that I salvage when dumpster dumpster diving. That will help me to know if I can reuse them or if they are drained of juice. This may also help me with finding out if taking apart broken electronics with Li-Ion batteries would be worth it, as well as if chargers I find in the trash can be reused/resold or if they are nonfunctional. That will be super helpful as I will not have to find some random peice of tech to place the batteries/charger into to see if it works, as I do not always have a peice of tech that the charger would fit, lol I have been meaning to get one for awhile, but for many reasons (cost, ADHD, ignorance, etc) have not gotten around to getting one. Reviews like this are great at helping me to find a good one, as well as learning how they work and function

What a nice little piece of kit! like the tech college story, my days at college were in the 80's when scopes and meters were much different too! that meter would seem a bit alien but very exciting if it were to appear in the classroom, i can feel it even now! thanks for sharing, I appreciate all your videos, helps to keep me sane 😅 🕛

The price of the unit is very good for the functionality it provides. For a lot of electronic / electrical work, the portability of the unit is very attractive. I wonder does the unit accept x10 oscilloscope probes ? Being a battery powered unit removes potential problems with common voltage limits when using the oscilloscope on circuits that are well above ground / earth. Finally the display, particularly showing multimeter readings etc appears so much easier to read than a monochrome LCD display.

Nice to see that it uses a USB C. I've gradually been trying to move all my devices to C. Tired of constantly looking for cables. Hopefully it stays the standard going forward. Soldered fuses is a bit of a let down though, as blowing fuses does inevitably happen. I guess you could always add a fuse holder and solder it instead if you did have to replace the fuse down the road, assuming there is space available (which it looks like there is). My current meter is basic, it's cool to see that one has a oscilloscope.

An add-on to @sodderbridge comment. A: One More. (always one more) - The thing about these meters are the addition to a portable oscilloscope, just enough stuff to get the job done, I do wonder about update rate, but it's probably more then enough.

Hey Jeff - have you ever dealt with the 06-11 crown Victoria IPCs? I keep seeing intermittent power failure. Hoping you could help. Can’t find a schematic for them either.. any help is appreciated man
@jeffescortlx8 ай бұрын
I probably might have. But I don't remember specifically. Intermittent power almost always is caused by fractured solder joints. Check for the six-pin resistor network chips, loose microcontroller pins, fractured resistor joints or connector pins.
