Just a thought going in, before it gets started. David, I'm 67 and been playing and listening to music of all kinds for decades, been playing rock guitar since the 70s, and half the time on your shows I'm wondering, "Where does he dig this stuff up, how does he find the time?" I totally mean that as a compliment. Now, on to the video...

Awesome! - that first lick especially is tasty. Any chances on breaking down some Isaiah Mitchell/Earthless licks in a future vid?

Strangest coincidence, I spent all of last afternoon watching this performance haha. Was wondering if anyone had recorded the licks from it and transcribed them. Thanks, another great video

Brilliant episode. Using the looper to bring out the character of the note choices was brilliant

3 Marc Diglio or XYZ chord play next 😆 Goodluck trying to emulate that tone from their album “Hungry”

I actually own one of Marc Diglio’s ex Sunburst Gibson Les Paul that Marc once owned, it’s one of my most prized possessions.

@@hughle2579How did you figure that out and obtain it? That’s awesome! I wish XYZ had come out earlier and the alternative change in the 90’s didn’t push them away so suddenly (same happened to GIANT another one of my favorites) but Marc totally inspired me there’s so much groove in his lead/rhythm on the first two albums. His roots as a blues player totally shined but he could melt your face off shredding too. Wish there was more footage of the original band from the 80’s.

@@stevenadler3110 thanks Steven, I live in Canberra, Australia and about 15 years ago, I saw an ad on eBay from some gentleman selling a beautiful Sunburst Gibson LP Standard on behalf of an ex rock star, he said he was selling the guitar on behalf of his good friend Marc Diglio ex XYZ. Now, I’ve heard of Dan Huff and Giant but not familiar with XYZ. To cut the long story short, I eventually won the auction and had the Les Paul shipped to me in Australia. It even came with a guitar pick and Marc’s autograph. The guitar is brilliant. To think that it was in Marc’s possession and he must have picked it out to buy for himself at some point was very cool. It was only about USD1800 etc. I have since sern some limited KZbin videos of Marc’s playing and yes, the man is a tasty player that’s for sure. I’m very blessed to have Marc’s former Le’s Paul indeed. 🙏🙏🙏 thanks Marc !!! ❤️❤️❤️

Don't know if you saw it, not that it matters, but I'm one of the people who requested this one. Scofield has been my favorite jazz guitarist since the late 80's. Thanks David!😊 Edit: I really like your thoughts at the end, too. That's great advice.

I first became aware of him through Medeski Martin & Wood...A-Go-Go is and incredible album/collab they did together! Uber Jam Live is a must watch for Sco fans!

Pardon if this is a silly question. Just curious if you are playing in that Sitting position with the guitar over your left leg just so it’s easier to see on the video. If so is there any reason not to if it feels more comfortable?
