I have noticed over the years that non greasable ball joints vs greasable have always stayed quieter. People tend to overfill and then rip the boot. Also aftermarket bushings may make more noises. It's all a gamble...factory or aftermarket.. nothing these days is made to last. It's what we all get with production manufacturing. Thanks for sharing

No offense but you should change the title. You really don’t know what’s going on at all aside from it making noises with your terrible mods and upgrades. Again no reason to rip on a spacer or truck if you don’t even know what’s actually going on. You’re literally guessing the entire video just going at random bolts with no rhyme or reason

I had a 2017 Silverado that had squeaky rear springs. I lemoned it over them. GM and the dealership attempted to fixed them 4 times, including a complete replacement and by the time the lemon case was done the truck had 37,000 miles on it. I took the MSRP for MSRP trade in on and got my wife a new Traverse. I still don't know what the actual issue was.

This is why I went with a 6” lift instead of a level, the angles are horrible, especially for 4x4.
@SkyRCFanatic

Yes it is.... I have had many experiences with aftermarket level/lifted trucks. Stay away from aftermarket. Buy a truck that has been already lifted.. such as the trail boss, raptor, rebel etc... The factory engineers are smarter than suspension manufacturers. In addition your truck would be built with all safety standard in place. What I mean by that is that your airbags won’t go off with a 3 inch lift while you are off-roading... which happens.

I'll bet it's just loose wheels. You absolutely have to torque these. Then, run them for around 50 miles or so and check the torque on each wheel again. Good torque wrenches pay for themselves every time you use them and will last a very long time.
@michaelt2071
@michaelt2071 2 жыл бұрын
your right i had the same issue. i used my toque gun to tightened it and drove it and i start hearing that noise so i checked my wheels and found the culprit it was the loose lug nuts on both front wheel. after torquing it to the right spec the noise went away.

The last several years I have read about the Chevy shakes, brand new trucks with vibration and shimmy problems, after multiple trips the dealerships they could not find what was wrong,, i forget what year it started, but newer isn't always better, it says alot about the state of engineering and how building it cheaper to save money has produced a lot of crap vehicles, too much plastic and cheap quality parts. And then you lift it, yeah doesn't surprise me it's not good, a lot of it is, blame the lift, when it's not the lift's fault. No offense, just saying.

Depends on the wheel offset you have on whether it will clear. I have a 2in level on my 2016 and am running 305 60 r18 (33x12s) tires on stock wheels with 24 offset. It barely rubs the upper control arms at full lock, everything else clears with room to spare.

I have a 2017 Z71, with a 2-inch leveling kit. I've been trying to chase down a squeak that sounds like it's coming from the right front whenever I hit any significant bumps. I was thinking it may be due to the leveling kit, but someone else said they solved their squeak by re-torquing the struts. I'll try that. Any other suggestions what may be causing this? Its driving me nuts.
@brianraabe308

Mine was doing this same thing... I found something about the struts were the seal on the shiny shaft gets dry and makes a creaking sound.... Anytime you modify stock suspension you maybe maxing out all the front end components especially with those big ass rims and 3 inch leveling kit. While people think they look nice they add twice the weight and that alone without the lift can wear the suspension components early. It looks like you took care of the squeak but it will most likely come back. Invest in some impact tools or get a 4 way tire iron.
