Also take time out to read a book. Or just lay on your bed close you're eye's and just scan you body to see how you feel from feet to head. Feeling the sensations just for 5 to 10 minutes

Streching out with Josh since 2020, practicing macaco flips etc., cold showers, riding a bike whenever I can, reading before falling asleep, putting limits on browsing social media (fb, twitter once a week for no more than 20 min)., intermittent fasting - I eat from 12 to 6 o'clock. Lost 20 kg, partially got rid of anxiety problems, better look, less headaches, general improvement in mobility flexibility and health, day appears to be longer... Love you guys. :)

not into fasting at all. i'm very active, 6'4", 54 years old, and never stop eating (everything i eat is the right kind of food though, i've educated myself on good nutrition). i'm also in great shape, so it really doesn't matter anymore what time i eat, i'll always burn it off 👊. staying very active (cardio/resistance work), eradicating all your cravings and addictions, and learning about good nutrition really is the fountain of youth. i'll never feel more than 30 years old so long as i can keep active and maintain my discipline (which is easy once you've beaten those cravings/addictions).

A habit that helps me is waking up and taking care of myself 1st, instead of waking up my baby and feeding her immediately. I let her chill while I drink water first thing, make coffee, take vitamins, and thennnn I will get my baby. It creates less stress not worrying about us both at the same time and I love the routine of it. It's easy to forget about yourself when children come along. It's like a plane: put your oxygen mask on first and then take care of the child. ❤️ everyone is better off in the end.

I’ve been taking super cold showers for a year every morning, but eventually found that it causes inflammation in my shoulder tendons and joints. It grew slowly and at first I though it was just muscle soreness from my workout. But eventually I started wondering why the pain doesn’t go away and keeps getting stronger. Stopped cold showers and the pain went away in a couple of days. Repeated, and got the same results. After some research found that even Wim Hoff confirmed the effect of cold water - it can elevate any hidden inflammation you might have. I have inherently weak (thin) bones and most likely my joints and tendons are not that strong either. I started calisthenics at the same time I started cold showers, and calisthenics most likely cause micro-injuries in my shoulder tendons and joints. And cold water most likely brings this side effect to a higher level. So I am not saying cold water is bad for everyone, just want to warn about potential side effects for some people. As to me, I decided to get back to cold water when I strengthen my body to the point where I don’t incur micro-injuries from workout that much. I am 52, started working out after 30 years of gap, no wonder my body needs time to get stronger, but I am sure it will one day.

@@gazza18881967 The main benefit I saw is that I stopped feeling cold outside in the winter. I live in Canada, winters are brutally cold, people wear thick parkas to stay warm, so as I. But last winter I never wore a jacket, even during coldest days. And most importantly, I didn’t feel cold. No shivers, nothing. Feels like the cold is about 6 inches away from the body. I believe this is how animals feel in winter. Some of them, like moose and deer, don’t have very thick fur, yet they stay outside 24/7. So it’s not all about fur, the body has a natural mechanism to adapt and survive in freezing temperatures. Practicing cold showers helps awaken this mechanism, become much closer to nature. I also didn’t catch any cold the entire winter and when I got Covid, I recovered very quickly without any complications. So I do believe there are benefits, just need to find the right balance. Even a medicine can become poison in large quantities.
@VoidedTea
@VoidedTea 2 жыл бұрын
@@floop74 While I chose cold showers, my wife preferred ice baths. She noticed the same effect on her joints. But what’s interesting, her pain was mostly in wrists and elbows, not shoulders. Sounds strange, but technically when you take baths, it’s the wrists and elbows that stay in cold water, shoulders usually remain above the line. While in showers it’s the opposite- the shoulders got hit the hardest. That was another sign for us that our discomfort had something to do with cold water. And yes, inflammation just gets magnified. So be careful, do your research. I heard testimonials people had problems even with their eyes due to inflammation after starting practicing cold water.

Hey guys, love the video and I totally agree. I'm almost 60 and over the last year I have been getting up at first light and going for a walk. After the walk I take a warmish shower for about a minute so I can shave, then I turn it to cold and stay in there for about 4 minutes. It has made a huge difference in my life. Just the cold shower makes my mood so much better for the whole day. Now I do crave the cold shower, and I hated the thought of cold water shower before I gave it a try. And the early walk gets it out of the way and sets my day off in the right direction. Thanks for the video.

Honestly, the key about waking up early without falling into the snooze button trap as you guys pointed out is as simple as having a clear-cut plan of what you're going to do right from the moment you get out of bed. No vague ideas such as "I'm going to work out" or "I'm going to meditate" or "I'm going to read a book." In my experience, that doesn't cut it. I kept hitting that snooze button every morning until I started writing down exactly what I would do when I woke up the next day every night before going to sleep. The clearer the goals, the easier it is.

@@citizenmattify you can do it, give it a serious try, it really helps to stay focussed. Use an app that counts the time that you are sober, helped me a lot. All ‘first time’ activities are a bit strange, like a birthday or a concert. But once you did something without, it gets easier the second time….. Thank u guys :) Good advices. One of my favourite morning routine habits is meditating for at least 10 minuntes every morning. AND - (especially for people who got a lot of stress) - After waking up - really DO NOT THINK and don't really do anything. This could mean, while you'r drinking yout morning tea, just sit and drink and don't think about what u have to do this day or other ish. This is almost the same like "more complicated" meditation techniques. Actually it's Zen. And it and really can do some magic. ✨😎

I do all these things. Meditation is a big one as well. I can maybe miss a day, but if I miss several days in a row I become super unfocused and irritable and just perform poorly in general. I would also recommend journaling in whatever form you feel comfortable with. I generally just stick to one A4 page or less and just evaluate my performance from the previous day, what I would like to achieve on the upcoming day, what is pissing me off or keeping me distracted and I try to think of at least one, but preferably two or three, things I’m thankful for.

I get in the ocean every day and yes it’s uncomfortable at first, but now my body craves it and need it to feel fully awake. I know the discomfort is temporary and that I will recover quickly from the cold. I encourage people new to this practice to relax into it and release resistance. You kind of have to psyche yourself out. Don’t cower from it but go all in instead. Also, getting my hair wet and dunking completely under is a must for me, otherwise I feel incomplete and don’t get the full body reset I’m craving.

Gardening! Of course, if you don’t have a garden, it’s a bit difficult. But, to me it’s both a way to workout (it can be light weeding or hard digging/moving dirt when preparing the garden in the spring/fall) and a way to simply disconnect from the daily grind, so it essentially becomes sort of meditating.

I wake at 5:30 drink some water and then walk for about an hour with my dog, i have no excuse to not walk, my dog gets me out the house, i use different routes around my village every morning which adds a bit of variety. Arrive home and do an hour of jump rope, weighted ropes and some pushups, i like to do maybe 50 or so. Eat and relax for about 30 mins. I don’t check messages, i don’t do facebook, twitter etc and then head of to work. I have a fairly outdoor manual job so i’m on the go all day, arrive home around 5:30 and will eat around 7:00 p.m. Walk with my dog, a tepid shower and then i’ll watch a couple of hours of t.v. and on a normal evening i’ll be in bed around 9:30, read for an hour and try to be settled to sleep around 10:30, and normally i have no problem sleeping.

My dog "makes" me take her for an hour walk at least once (sometimes twice) a day. We usually go in the park (a wooded area). Cell phone is in my fanny pouch for emergencies and on DND. There is little talking and a lot of "mental" communication with her. Sometimes I bring my mala beads to repeat a mantra, but most of the time it's a time for silent bonding with puppers, devoid of anything electronic...just listening (with ears, eyes, skin) to the wilderness and its animals. We have gotten to know the individuals in a community of deer, as well as a red-tailed hawk.

Working out and journaling are the two habits that have improved my life the most. So did having a morning routine but I quit that habit. I'mm starting that again because it had such a huge impact on my productivity and mindset for the day and ultimately, how content I am with that day. Meditating for just a few minutes with breathing patterns has really helped calming my anxiety. Walking is great but I wanna put that back into my morning instead of evening. I hate cold showers haha but they give you sensation and body awareness like nothing else. I'm also committing to times off of social media because it's draining and distracting. My goal is to be more present and proactive. Great video, keep up the good work! I really like your channel because of how simple yet effective your content is. One of my long time favs on yt.

Interesting. A few weeks ago I have started to get up two hours earlier, at a fixed time. Initially to have more time for preparing my day, meal prep, and the odd fitness challenge. I work shifts, so early in the mornings is the only reliable time for me. Before doing Keto, this was never even an option because I would become tired in the afternoons when getting up early. Not anymore. Constant energy all day long. I get up at 5am, take a cold shower for five minutes, and do all my actual showering with cold water these days. Very refreshing. I then cook my lunch or dinner, have my breakfast if I feel like having one and then I still have an hour just for me. So yeah, I can only agree: Get up early, spend time on yourself, and do things. Take cold showers. And for myself, start a keto diet. Simplified my life a LOT. And I get a lot more done.

1 hour of meditation at the start and at the end of the day, starting within the first and last fifteen minutes with a small practice to end/ start the day. This helped ground in tremendous clarity and cognizance, which eventually gave way to an easy set point to begin every day without requiring an hour to get into that state of being, once it was familiar, and once the arrangement was set in spirit.

Since 1 month back to my exercise routine 3x per week(so hard to find back the consistency of routine,but its a goal) And stop thinking about why people say dumb things and why they think like like this. What I like and do every morning, is get outside in our small garden barefoot and enjoy my one and only coffee of the day. But waking up earlier, have a walk and a cold shower afterwards is definitely worth trying! I'll give it a shot.

Great advice here...I went through depression and a few of these tricks really help. Snapping your body out of auto pilot. Keep changing stuff up to you active and present in the moment. Simple stuff like I swim in the morning before work and each time I change what locker I'm using. Drive to work different ways. I found this helps. Walking and quick runs are Lsogreat advice. Sounds small but shit like this really helps with well being.

Teach yourself to awaken before the alarm goes off. I hate the sound of an alarm & have slowly learned to wake up at whatever time I wish (mostly). I set the alarm if needed but usually wake up before it rings.

Great vid. Habbit building is a vital skill. I recently started a morning session of positive hydration + positive information. And am working towards complementing it with an evening session of positive nutrition + positive socialising. Ideas to schedules, schedules to habits, habitis to goals.

switching from wine to de alcoholized wine.....only has trace amounts of alcohol in it but just the feeling of opening a wine bottle, pouring it into a wine glass and having it vaguely taste like wine seems to be a visual cue that kicks in immediate anti anxiety....now its just less taxing on my liver......

All of these habits have become way way harder to implement since I became a parent. If I by some miracle wake up before my kid I have to stay super quiet not to wake him up. That eliminates cold showers, exercise, cooking, obvioulsy also walking (can´t leave my 1yo home alone).I guess I could try to meditate but i´m way way too tired for that in the morning. That said you uys are right - mornings are the key. I you start right, you finish right

We are all raised with bad habits. Sometimes it takes years to over come what seems to be normal. I’ve been walking after dinner every night for years (2 miles). It is one of the best habits I trained myself to do.

Thanks! Nice tipps :) I added Meditation with deep breathing to my morning routine. 10-30 min every day. Getting my brain clear and implementing good, positive thoughts actively. A cold shower is also a part of the routine. Very effective! I´ll try the 15 min earlier and the walk. :) Thank you for your Output! I started the hanging and the squad 2 years ago and don't wanna live without them anymore! Even my father got a hanging place now. Very nice :)) Big Ups to you!!

love your ideas and your channel. I started experimenting with cold showers this summer when I was experiencing panic attacks quite often. It really works and you can feel the effects instantly! I see now, especially as I get older, that the heat is not always your friend, although sometimes can be soothing to muscles but not so much nervous system, or skin etc. Side note: I also found appreciation for the shower and bath scenes 😆 so thank you!

Doing a morning routine in general was a game changer. For me it has worked great making the bed right away also, to set the tone of the day. Morning-pages, Morning Yoga, then Morning-walk/workout. Then break the fast.. :)
