If you were to actually improve this mission, I have a suggestion: A mission secondary that scores when you remove models from more than 1 player's army in a turn. It'd have to be pretty good- to compete with other secondaries -but tuned right, it could encourage players to split attacks and not wipe one player off the board instantly.

I think there's a lot of ways to use to points/secondaries to make the game a close match, but it might cause weird scenarios where the army that ran and hid wins the match. Something like "You lose if the army to your right is destroyed first" or "you win if you have at least one unit when a specific army is destroyed" could encourage aggressive playing, while discouraging ganging up on on armies.

@@cainadkins3985 I’ve done 2v2 with my friend against my other two friends. Grey Knights and Black Templars (My friend and I) vs Necrons and Tau. We each get 6 command points and a thousand point list. We typically move one at a time just so it’s easier for everyone to follow

Honestly if there was a roll for betrayals or allegiance breaking the 4 way would get more interesting. Up the army points to 1500 go in a 2v2 but at the end of every turn you roll to see if your army betrays your ally or if you just break the alliance. Absolute CHAOS!

Just a thought experiment what if you had some sort of system, where each team was incentivized to go after a different team, kinda like a bounty system and everyone knew who they were after and who they had to defend against, like the tyranids got points for killing custodians, and custodians got points for killing tau, and tau got points for killing chaos, and chaos got points for killing tyranids, so there was points for being the last group alive too, so you could win if you just destroyed your target and the other two groups killed you still but if it’s close then the survived of it all would win

Idea for possible improvement or at least different game play in the future: Have all the players roll off, the highest roll is player #1, second highest is player #2 and so on. Player #1 goes first, then #2 and so on. However have either the highest or lowest player roll for who their target is. So in this case and the lowest original roller, player #4 rolls a d3 for his target player. Then that target player rolls a d2 for his target player, excluding themselves and the first player to select a target(that play is the target of the the last player to select a target). This continues until the last player in the the target pool is to roll and is then given their target which was the first player to roll for a target. This way each player has a goal of eliminating another player in the game, but is not really wanting to attack other players for the most part because they would only be helping out another player with defeating their target. Once a target is eliminated, by anyone/anything, that targets target is now their new target. (Example: Player #1 has a target of Player #3. Player #3 is eliminated by Player #2. Player #1 now receives any points you may have assigned for elimination of a target and receives Player #3 target as their new target, which was Player #4. So from that point forward Player #1 is now focusing on eliminating Player #4). As mentioned in the example above you could assign points for each target eliminated, but they are given to the player who had that player as their target. This should cause players to not attack other players who are not their target. However every now and then players could possibly set themselves up to try to help defend another who is about to be eliminated in order to deny points to different player. Also there could be a objective point set in each players starting area or near it and maybe one in the very middle of the map as well. There are many different ways to use these as either primary or secondary goals based off of existing WH40K rules. Last idea is instead of using the WH40K turn system use a bag filled with colored tokens, each color being a player, and just one token for each unit. As each token is pulled that player who's color was pulled selects a unit which has yet to be played this turn/round and actives it. They going through all the phases which that unit can do and then place the token next to the unit once they are finished. This means if you want to buff units with psychic powers, that psyche unit has to be activated before hand so that they are able to do those psychic powers. Player could have a string of playing their units or alternating between each other. It also helps to break up the boring of all Warhammer games which is "oh it's your turn... I'm going to go get a sandwich now and hopefully you'll be done with most of your stuff by the time I come back with it... I'll have that guy roll any needed saves for me while I'm gone."
