It makes you wonder when Dpf cleaners and other mechanics who looked at that vehicle before swapped the hoses to the sensor or didn't notice they were swapped... Poor bloke probably kept paying up for the wrong diagnoses and solution to his issues.. Once again it's refreshing to see you get to the bottom of the problem.

There is an old saying 'a little knowledge is a dangerous thing'. This applies to those other mechanics...and was hazardous to the persons bank balance. I swear that if I ever get dpf issues I will trailer the car down from Glasgow to you Jimmy. Recently had issues with my x-trail and spent over a £1,000 in and out of garages and the dealership but none of them could resolve the issue. Turns out it was the ECU. Got a second hand one recoded to my car for £560.

It's amazing how many people don't know how a differential pressure sensor works. I work with an engineer who is at a very prestigious automotive company who didn't understand that they measure the difference in pressure across the channels. Also, I was really surprised the ECU was capable of registering a negative value.

Jimmy: FYI: The green Color you see in the oil, could be the special wear protection technology of Molygen motor oil. LIQUI MOLY's Molygen motor oils are green. probably not something that should be run in a diesel with a PDF maybe. don't know if the additives can affect it or not.

Jimmy I think the 5 second bursts Launch says it refers to when you squirt the solution while engine is turned on, in my head that would make sense, the idea behind squirting in bursts while engine is turned on is the solution will stay in contact with soot for longer period of time, its basic chemistry u apply solution u have to give it some time to work ..., when engine is turned off it will not matter if u squirt in bursts or not since u will be the one deciding for how long solution will stay in the DPF before u start engine and solution will get expelled out. When engine is turned on the solution u inject will have a very limited amount of time to work since the exhaust gases will push it out straight away, something that does not happen when engine is turned off ... I watch all your videos so I know u start with an engine-off solution injection and sometimes u follow it with an engine-on solution injection, the bursts squirt injection should be done only during engine-on injection ...

I have a question, the Launch cleaner seems to work like a charm, but what do understand is on this vehicle the DPF has been off and been on a 'blaster' type of cleaning machine, how come that fails to clean and the launch does 🤔

Re the pressure dropping to zero, from the shape of the graph, I wonder if it's going up in increments of 10? So if it was sitting at 3.5 or 4, it would round that to zero? In your other videos, i've seen it with 1 decimal place so could be a setting in the tool? Either way, another great video, thanks!

I would like to see inside a dpf, before and after cleaning with the LaunchUK product. And that sprayed dpf looks like they just swapped it with a reconditioned one.

I would also like to see inside the DPF prior and after cleaning, but that's not very likely. A peek into pitch black, and then the pitch black turns to a whitish honeycomb. The cleaning is not on the surface it's way down inside and there's no way to see that so it's kind of pointless. The DPF that was removed and cleaned is not likely a swap, because those are rather expensive to have sitting around, and there's just too many different kinds. it is an old trick for sales of reconditioned products. since you did some thing that no one can actually see make it pretty so it looks like you at least did something. The average person doesn't know the difference between pretty and proper repair that they can't see anyway. if it wasn't painted, they would just look at it, and think nothing was ever done in the first place. This avoids accusations......

​@@JustMe-DudeI've seen people clean dpfs before, I am more interested in how the Launch fluid cleans, especially how little time it spends inside the dpf. Jimmy is usually done in 30 minutes. My Mazda 3 has had 10 litres of Vtech dpf cleaner through it and a bottle of the Launch fluid and still I have issues. It works for a while but blocks after 1000 - 1500 miles.

had one of these Galaxys nothing but problems so many times that warning come up on the dashboard can't beat going in to limp mode in the outside lane of a motorway, had loads of work done to it and it never lasted more than a few months before there was another issue

my daughter payed 4 grand for a kuga 2.0 tdci , 3 months later it has cut out with code p244D exhaust temp too high for regen the fan isnt working and it has p0087-71 circuit to high . please could you tell me , is it worth trying to clean the DPF and resetting the EGT sensor as it would appear to be thermaly locked. also is the p0087 how the ECU cuts the injectors ? i'm at my wits end . 120,000 mls 2009 mondeo style DPF no atomizer... thanks in advance

Hey mate, Running a Launch as well. Any idea why I would have 0Kpa on the differential pressure sensor reading? Have had a fault on customers vehicle with vaporizor. Seems to be OK now. But the readings don't seem right.

@@ORileysAutos Thanks, Have checked over pretty thoroughly. Vehicle still operating fine after a few thousand km. Mainly asked because I was trying to eliminate the scan tool reading. I will get a manometer in to check. I see on another video on a transit you had 2 differential pressure tabs open and one just read 0 the whole time. Is a Ford Ranger.

because they just do more of the same and never get anywhere. you need the vehicle you can't just let it sit at the shop all the time. if they don't know what they're doing, and as Jimmy said, some of them even say they don't know what the problem is straight up to the customer, then, what's the point of going back? if it was a reputable shop, show them the video and they should feel bad enough to give you your money back, and maybe even learn a thing or two from Jimmy

I gotta ask, have i been lucky with DPF's over the years or does my style of driving just make them work as intended, love the videos really do, but by god its alarming how many diffrent garages cant fix them or are guessing........ S-Max 125,000 miles OEM DPF B-Max 62,000 miles OEM DPF Audi A3 - 139,000 miles OEM DPF and finally the Peugoet 3008 Hybrid, 317,000 OEM DPF The only "fault" ive had to deal with was on the SMAX where it all went crazy over glow plug failures, weeks of chasing the exhaust and it just cleared up after ford put 4 new glow plugs in it at its 80k service. Does mainly motorway driving make that much diffrence as opposed to city driving? No idea but christ alive.

longer distance driving is what diesels are designed for these days. sounds like you keep your vehicles in top mechanical condition. malfunctions and short distance, driving plug DPFs, so you're doing great I hope I do as well
