Yesterday I gave a homeless person some change and he was so appreciative. I then realised I had a £10 note in my pocket and walked back to give it to him. His reaction was like I'd given him a million pounds "are you sure? are you sure? wow, god bless you". The feeling I got from that one simple act made me feel so much better about myself, and it's something I highly recommend. Making sure that another human at least has the means to purchase food. It made me realise that as bad as we might feel about ourselves and our lives, we can help others incredibly and restore their faith in kindness with such a simple act.

Charity is a really weird thing, but it's something ingrained in many people. I personally find it feels good to give to those in need. I'm an incredibly cynical person, but I just like how it feels when I give help to someone who needs my help. I'm British, but I was in Toronto a couple of months ago, and there was a woman in one of the subway stations with a sign saying she had fallen on hard times and needed money to eat. I gave her two bucks, which I'm not sure was enough to eat, but it would probably get her a cheeseburger at a McDonalds in Toronto. I just gave her the money and wished her a good day. She wished me a good day back. I'm sure that two bucks didn't exactly change her life, but I got more satisfaction in handing her those two bucks than I would have done spending them myself. There is a paradoxical pleasure in giving to those in need that I think is what keeps us alive as people.

One time when I was eight years old I was walking by a mall and I tripped and feel and my knee started to bleed. There was a homeless man and another one that seemed about the same age that was walking with a few bags and he had nice clothes on so I could tell that he wasn't homeless. The guy with a home walked right past me and I know he saw me because he looked right at me. The homeless man came up and made sure I was fine. He said it's not right if a man sees a lady fall and walks right past because that means he has no heart if he does. I gave him a few dollars and he walked off.

There is a man I know that is homeless in my city. He is the kindest soul you'd ever meet. He sees the good in anyone regardless of who they are and was one of the first to ask that a homeless memorial be started for those who pass away on the street. Years later and we have hundreds of John and Jane Doe's up on the board and he's still giving out hugs and food and passing out marbles to have something to remember him by. I have three marbles from him and I'll never forget Ol' Duck. He is someone that I look up to.

@TheMacivan8 жыл бұрын
what about working ?
@a.bloke2.0alwayslearning.238 жыл бұрын
+TheMacivan. Good question. Work is good for you in so many ways, if you can get it. I was of good health and well qualified when I was younger. My only drawback concerning work was that I was Single, unmarried and with no mortgage. Interviews always asked about my status to know if they could count on me not walking out if I felt abused in my work. I would and I did, but employers were not easy about this and the job often went to married, less skilled and more pliable men. I travelled about getting temporary work where a local man could not be found, but never the less I once went three days without food. Sometimes work is not available to you. Refugees are not allowed to work, and the desperate wrecks of humanity who sleep the streets do not know HOW to live in Society. Instead of forbidding work it should be created for those who WANT to work, and the lost of us should be getting shown how to be happy living amongst us. (They are not bad people, they are just lost.) Work is wonderful. It puts money in your pocket. This buys you a home and bed And food ANd washing AND self respect, etc, etc. Work gets you up in the morning and, with a good set of workmates, gives you a social life and all day entertainment. IF you can do and get it, work can be great. If you can get it. That's the problem with work. Its often scarcity.

I don't think a lot of people understand how this world works, I've seen it many times, people beg outside of supermarkets, beg for money so they can buy food, people give them food and they say they want money in stead, at the end of the day a car picks them up and they've earned more than I do. I'm not saying everyone is like this, far from, and if someone would ask me for food while I was eating I would help them out, I could never just sit there and finish my meal, but you got to understand that there's a lot of people out there who just pretend to be homeless as well, especially here in Belgium where we have a very good system to help people out with not too much money.

I unsuccessfully tried to become a welfare worker years ago. I had always wanted to be a social worker but I have an Acquired Brain Injury and simply could not keep up with the work load as well as the real life work load. I have bought food for hungry homeless/street people because I too have been homeless, hungry, cold and alone, and it can be a very difficult and lonely experience. I too have mental health problems as well as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after experiencing traumatic experiences right through out my life. I have been touched by this video and want to say a huuge THANKYOU to the makers of it. This week I am going to buy some bread and butter and maybe some cheese and salad so that I can make sandwiches to deliver to the people of the streets of my city. It might help someone to get through the day a little more easily and comfortably. It also might restore someone else's faith in hiumanity by being considered before having to beg or ask strangers for donations. Peace.

This is a load of crap ! The reason is: 1. The state is obliged to provide housing and social security for all Danes. 2. social security is approximately a minimum of $1500.. if you have kids its approximately $2000 a month... If you are a Danish citizen your homelessness is by choice not poverty. However if you want to be paid social security you need to follow the programs and take what ever job you are advised.... you can not say no or your social security is gone.. but again its a choice... you can be 100% free and there is no requirement for you to work, however you don't get social security payments then (health security is still provided) So when you see people say no to beggars on the street it is actually a good thing. And the reason is: Beggars need to learn that money comes with a job and that social security comes with a responsibility.. the people saying NO, know that it is bad thing to just give money to beggars because it will strengthen a tendency that is unwanted... These beggars can have social security and if they are too sick to work they can get the social security that comes with that - social security also include free health insurance so if they are too sick to work they have the opportunity to change that free of charge.. This video is absolutely a misrepresentation of how things work around here.. Shame on Arian planet for portraying this as truth.. SHAME !

As a Dane i can say this fool knows nothing than his own little happy world :) there is alot of homeless people is denmark and rising insanely fast last years with the youth who study not being able too afford apartments... others have health reasons making them not able too keep a job and economics... just a few examples.. So Sir ur the only who should be ashamed for being so narrow minded. This is a clip meant too show how people who have nothing still will share everything they have with you out of good heart... while rich people when even give u a dime if u ask.. The good in people is lost somewhere along the path too Wealth
@kristianblerche84438 жыл бұрын

search google for hjemløse i danmark there is evidence
@kristianblerche84438 жыл бұрын
Yeah search google for alien lizard men who run the world I bet you will find proof ... if your proof or evidence is do a google search your point is invalid... But I will provide you with the actual numbers from the official site socialstyrelsen.dk/ in the year 2015 which has the latest available data, there is 6.138 homeless people in Denmark and that is in a population of 5.71million Danes that equates to 0.107% of the total population and of them less than half are estimated to be actually living on the streets the rest are homeless as in, they do not have a registered address but do have a roof over their head. However there has been an increase in 2015 of approximately 150 persons... ! and you call that a lot..and rising insanely... seriously !?!? That is an increase of 2% total....In your statement you clearly show you are nothing but a SJW so get your facts straight and your evidence ready to show because from what you have provided here you are nothing but a liar and a drama queen who try to put a bad rep on the danish social system. and you should be told to keep your pie hold shut if you cant do better.

The problem with homeless people in America is that most of them are not really homeless, they pan handle for drugs and alcohol and some of them beg to make money because it is easier they dont need to work hard they drive away with expensive cars and live in a big house...so hard to tell which ones are homeless from the fakes. I give them food instead od cash.... I wish a lot of people like you, keep up the good work, bless your heart.

Do you have a citation that demonstrably and empirically supports this data? Because a lot of people who say this sort of thing don't have any studies or empirical data at hand and are just regurgitating what they've been told. Not saying that you are completely wrong or anything, but if you're gonna make a claim like this, back it up.

Non-homeless don't share for SO many legitimate reasons, this is such BS. 1. You could be a scammer, there are tons out there. 2. You have no idea how much they DO give, to charities, shelters, etc. Maybe there's just a breaking point that they are tapped out. How do you know that any of those people didn't give to a homeless guy earlier that day, or volunteer every weekend? 3. You are young, clean, and healthy/fit, which isn't to say that you can't be justifiably homeless, but maybe that you are not. Maybe you're just too lazy to get a job for all they know. And the list of valid reasons not to give surely goes on... This is a completely false portrayal of average working people.

As far as I can tell, there is no city that doesn't have places the homeless can go to for food. If a homeless person is hungry, it's usually their own fault. Have you noticed that they all ask for money, and none seem to ask for food? Many who won't give them money would gladly buy them a meal. When you give a homeless person money for food, and then see them use that money to buy alcohol, you stop giving them money. If you really want to help the homeless, give money to homeless shelters and soup kitchens and churches that have huge food giveaways on a regular basis. You aren't helping anyone by giving money to individuals who use it to buy alcohol. or drugs.

in this video they r clearly asking for food...and maybe im just a very generous person. i dont care if each city has a shelter, how r they suppossed to get there in the time for food n shelter? i just know whats right in front of me, i dont think too far of why they r needing and asking for my help. if u can help, help. it does not hurt any of us one bit. who knows that one burger can change ones life.

its easy to give away somthing u get from no hard work of your own..easy to go back to nothing...its the fear of having nothing that stops u sharing. hardest thing to do is work a minimun wage job and do it day in day out and feed a family...they are the true heros

A person that is homeless knows what it's like to go without. You also learn to be hopeful. They help each other because it's because they have experienced it on their core

People can be so judgemental but the homeless, who have nothing are the ones who are willing to share what little they have with a stranger. Don't be the one who judges a book by its cover....be the one who is willing to hear the story and understand the book! The gift of kindness cost nothing but has the biggest return!!

This is evident of the Truth! "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a Needle than a rich man to get into heaven"!!! The eye of a needle was a city gate in ancient times, & the camel had to be dragged through the small entrance into the city. The more they have the harder their heart becomes & blind to the suffering of others! Woe Woe Woe onto you that have a hardened heart, for your reward is that which you have treasured here on earth(which will be of no use it the afterlife).

If we all helped at least one person a day it comes back to you ten fold. Then you are truly rich. Thank you for opening my eyes, I will take a leaf out of your book and help as many people as I possibly can ... I have more money than I need and waste more money than I earn. What I need is less than I have. I can therefore give more than I have. Again thank you for opening my eyes. I just hope more people see this and do their bit.

People only change when they think money makes them better than a person without, I have lived on both sides and have the hardest time asking anyone for help ,I feel like a bad person when I need help and condemn all the things in my life that might have gotten me into that situation, even if they wheir out of my control. So next time you see a homeless person don't judge them so harshly they have already beaten themselves up every hour of the day. We are human first and that is the only label that should cross your mind.
