I love the wrap on your truck and boat honoring GOD and showing your patriotism. I really love the bible verses. I am a disabled vet from Iraq and thankfully came home with all limbs and everything works. I had the words Psalms 91 on each side of the hood of out Het truck in 2004, mainly Fallujah and other areas. While that was on my truck we never got shot at or ambushed. Good thing as we had no uparmor on the truck. After command ordered us to remove it....we got ambushed, shot at and IED'd quite a bit. Coincidence? I don't think so. I take other vets out fishing and make lures I give to vets and high schoolers.

Good tips. One thing k would say is how much line is on the spool has zero impact on gear ratio. But it does change inches per handle turn. Two different things.

Your method of spooling line on a casting reel says to not have the line spool flat on its side,but to have it spinning on its axis. That's because the line is coming off the spool vertically and going on your casting reel vertically. If the spool was flat, the line would be coming off the spool horizontally and going on your reel vertically,causing a twist with every turn of your reel handle. Then you say to spool the braided line onto a spinning reel the same way. Now you have the line coming off the spool vertically and going on your spinning reel horizontally. That's putting a twist in your braided line with every turn of the reel handle. The spool needs to be flat with the line coming off the spool in the same direction as it is being wound on the spinning reel spool. An easy way to see if the line is coming off the spool is to wind the reel a few times and let the line go slack. If the line twists, turn the spool over and the line will then be coming off the spool in the same direction as it's being turned by the bail on the horizontal spinning reel spool. Braided line will withstand twists to some extent, but mono or Fluro will be ruined if you use your method of spooling a spinning reel.

I have seen tons of people make the mistake of putting braid directly on the spool. They think that something is wrong with the drag until I show them what is going on. I have used a pc of black tape around the spool before and that works. Can't wait for the new braid to hit the shelves. It looks perfect for my wacky and neko rig fishing. Alway hard to see the sink rate on them.

I use the Shimano Vanford 2500 and I love Seaguar InvizX and Tatsu for my leader lines and I will definitely get their new braid 👍 I watched you get on that flurry today, and it was 😢that they shut down the last 90 minutes😮 Still had a great tournament and looking forward to the next BPT….🍀🎣🍀

I appreciate the hint about a simple knot between the braid and backing. I use a uni knot which can be a pain. I have always been told fir casting reels have the line come over the spool and spinning under the spool. Is that correct ir doesn't it matter. Congratulations on your stage 2 performance. @@MattBeckerFishing I was told in the past when spooling casting reels you want the line coming off the spool to be coming over the top of the spool (clockwise) and coming from under the spool (counter clockwise) when spooling spinning reels. I wasn't sure if that was actually true or not.

@@scottdebruin3651as soon as you tie your knot and spool up your reel it will go that way. You don’t need to pay attention to it. As long as you put it through your guide on the baitcaster and tie it on and reel in it’ll be right.

To me, on a baitcaster, that tape adds inertia to the spool and can make the spool unbalanced affecting casting. I use braid backing on all casting reels.
