Climbed the Dome maybe 45/46 years ago. It’s a must if your up to it. Stunning views at the base of the dome internally and magnificent view on top of the dome externally.

I had to stop a few times while climbing. Also I was there maybe 10 years ago in early spring and I do not remember a schedule or restrictions. Make sure to stop by the gelateria on the piazza in front of the Duomo, it is amazing.

Greetings from Peru, they convinced me to go up to the dome, yes other videos and the truth is, the church is not very interesting (the main attraction of that church is the dome), even more so if one went through the Vatican. And its reflection is very good for a free traveler who always hopes to save as much as possible, but sometimes there are things worth spending that you don't see every day.

thanks for the video guys. On 1st Sunday of each month there is free entrance to most museums in Florence. Do you know how to go about if I want to climb the top of Duomo on the day. Is it open for all via a queue at the venue since there are no bookings available online. Thank you 😄

Thanks for tuning in Tania! I probably wouldn’t risk booking a climb on the day of. There didn’t seem to be an office to buy tickets in person. I’d be afraid that the times would all be sold out if you waited till the day of. Good luck!

can anyone tell me is it passable to do just the first part of the climb, to the round route below the dome, and then go back down, instead of keep climbing up?

If I remember correctly, you cannot. The climb was 1 directional up then down and there was a fence blocking the exit prior to the top of the dome. This was a couple years ago so maybe it has changed.

The biggest mistake of all is not visiting Jesus Himself present in the Tabernacle, and spending some time with Him (with God), no different to the way He is in Heaven only with His Glory Hidden and under another form..... the biggest mistake we make is just walking passed Him and not realising or believing that He is there, thus missing out on all the love He wants to give us, and not giving us ours that He is thirsting for to the point of shedding His blood for it..... 😢 😭 we visit His House and Ignore the Host..... imagine some one comes into your home and looks around at everything, climbs onto the roof to look at the view, but ignores the most important thing in that house, and that is you.... imagine how heartbroken you would feel......
