This is a legal gray area, and can vary from country to country, from state to state. Most states recognize that, if the activity is being recorded objectively and without interference/propagation from the 'director', the film-maker is protected under the first amendment: specifically relating to the freedom of the press. 150 gallons of mash probably yields 15 or 20 gallons of decent whiskey. Proofing it down to 80 proof will about double that number. 4 or 5 thousand dollars at 100 a gallon which is rare in reality. Around here decent shine at 100 proof goes for 20 a quart.
