You're absolutely right! That's exactly why I don't like glocks. I'm not buying a $300 gun much less a 7 or 800 that I have to turn around and put $200 trigger in. Period. It cost the factory $5 more to make a decent trigger a great trigger. Canik and walther do it all day long.

Everybody is entitled to their opinions. I have 2 G-19s and have loved them for a long time, in spite of the slide bite issue. As my hands age, though, the ergonomics of my G-19s no longer allow for comfortable shooting. I purchased an RXM because it is essentially a G-19 with better economics and comfort. And I like it. So, clone or not, copy cat or not, there is a market.

People laugh at Hi-Point but I'm here to say I repaired a C9 for a coworker buddy that was left in a crawlspace full of sand/dirt and moisture for years. The gun was completely rusted shut and packed full of mud/sand/dirt and wouldn't function or fire at all. I completely disassembled it and started getting out the PB Blaster and Kroil soaking the parts and cleaning it all up inside and out. I put it all back together with even the rusty old springs and it worked and functioned flawlessly. We ordered a complete rebuild kit for it off Ebay afterwards but still....for a $125 - $150 pistol that MOFO made the grade cut! You couldn't do any better for a cheap truck gun, boat tacklebox gun, toolbox gun or a garage/barn gun.

Thank you for being so honest. The very first time I shot my Shield Plus, I experienced a lot of quality control issues. The magazines were trash. The trigger pin walked out before it made it to 200 rounds. I have big hands. It just wasn't a comfortable experience at all. The texture, in my opinion, was the best. But ergonomically, I would take the Canik METE MC9 over the Shield Plus any day.

I have no problem with the Ruger RXM. It's priced competitively, it fixes the grip angle, has a much better optic mounting solution, it's modular and it has support from Magpul one of the largest aftermarket manufacturers on the planet. If they get additional grip modules in additional colors and magazine lengths, PCC / PDW modules on the market ASAP at an affordable price this platform will skyrocket. The Gen 3 Glock 19 has become to the pistol World what the AR-15 is to rifles. We don't call a Daniel defense an ArmaLite or Colt clone. So let's just call it the G3-19 platform. Everyone's going to make one and put their own twist on it.

Have a Merry Christmas! I knew the RXM made your list😂. I’ve always figured in an Apex kit with the price of any Smith polymer, they just can’t get a trigger right(even the revolvers need time with a stone). On a positive note, the RXM pins stay put, and the trigger doesn’t suck😁

I got the M&P 2.0 Metal Carry comp. The trigger reset does suck. I put a Ed Brown recoil guide rod with 13lb spring & the Apex forward set trigger in it. Made it way better. S&W resets suck so hard! I thought when they came out with the metal carry comp, they made that thing look so badass, I was like, they had to have changed that horrendous reset for that model at the very least.. I was so disappointed when i put it in my hands and found it to be the same 💩 reset as ALL of the rest of them! I was like, wow, they still have their heads up their ass! I don't understand why anyone gets emotional about brands. I picked up a CZ P10C with installed Holosun SCS for $589. But I sold it because I felt like the grip texture was too aggressive for me. But that doesn't change the fact that objectively it's a good gun at a great value.
@dillonc79553 сағат бұрын
I figured the RXM would be irrelevant just from the way it rolls off the tongue. A similar but different thing happened with the CZ75 when other companies got ahold of the design. Tangfolio and many other companies made their own one offs since Eastern Bloc countries didn't have patents. Therefore, you could make your own CZ75 lookalike without funny men in suits knocking on your door.

I feel the exact same way about comping a micro compact gun (though Shield Plus is already bigger than most micros); makes it not compact enough after doing that. And the $800-ish metal M&P this year looked cool but the trigger was garbage on the one I found. That said, the old 9mm Shield and the EZ .380 have both been good value purchases.

I share the exact same logic as you on these comped CCW pistols. A comp on a CCW pistol makes no sense, it's loud and gives concussion for not very much recoil reduction including wasting valuable velocity that could have been utilized for that extra overall length being added (rather give me 3.7 inches of usable barrel length instead of only 3.4 inches for the same overall length). It's already painful enough to shoot an uncomped short pistol without ear pro in a life or death situation (as that is what the shield was made for), now I'm going to add more concussion and flash defeating the whole reason why I spend money on top tier SD ammo due to it having low flashpoint proprietary propellants. As always great content with a rational and reasonable take on matters.

Sturm, Ruger & Company was founded by William B. Ruger and Alexander McCormick Sturm in 1949 in a small rented machine shop in Southport, Connecticut. Just prior to their partnership, Bill Ruger had successfully duplicated two Japanese "baby" Nambu pistols in his garage, from a captured Nambu that he acquired from a returning Marine, at the close of World War II. When it came to designing the Company's first product, Bill Ruger designed a semi-auto pistol that incorporated the looks of the German 9mm Luger P08 and the American Colt Woodsman into their first commercially produced .22 caliber pistol (see Ruger Standard), which became so successful that it launched the entire company. Ruger is just sticking to their roots

S&W M&Ps suck for the most part? You don't say...which I 100% agree with you. Get a GLOCK or HK and be done with it......

Yeah, don’t buy the RXM even if you like it and shoot it well, and it runs reliably and accurately, because it’s not original. Your life may depend on it, but please go buy an inferior gun that may break on you when you need it most, because it’s “original“. Pretty lame logic. Everyone tries to mimic Glock handguns, which is a testament to their quality and popularity. But everyone knows that Glock is too arrogant and proud to make some necessary changes to their platform that everybody has been asking for for many years. Plastic sites that literally pop off the firearm when you’re shooting it- need I say more? So finally, Ruger and Magpul combine their efforts to produce and sell the Glock that everyone has been begging for, with some cool upgrades. The majority of reviews that I have seen on KZbin for the RXM are glowing. The gun seems to be simple, reliable, accurate and adaptable, which is all you need for a defensive handgun . Who gives a you know what that it’s not perfectly “original”.

Clearly you don't understand the engineering concept of "keep on fixing it until you break it". Ask Ford about the 300 IL6, 289, 302, 351, 390, 427, 428, 460. Ask GM about the 283, 302, 305, 327, 350, 396, 427, 454. Ask Chrysler about the 225 SL6, 273, 318, 340, 360, 383, 440 and 426 Hemi? They "fixed them until they broke them". The same thing for many other things they got right and perfect THE FIRST TIME. Don't keep on reinventing the wheel and remember what a POS the Ruger P-85, P-89, P-90 and P-94 was compared to a Beretta M9/92FS or Sig Sauer P-226/Mk25....or even a Browning Hi-Power or CZ-75B. Oh...I forgot all you post Obama gun owners know everything about everything in a few years time. You are very easy to spot in a crowd.......

@sedonabear2010 I'd still take a real Glock over this blocky glock copy. Proven to be really reliable. Have you ever even put one in your hands yet? Dry fired it? I have. I had all the intentions of purchasing it that very day. Until I checked it out in person. I was amazed by how cheap it felt. The slide was super loose, and the trigger was way worse than any stock glock trigger I've ever dry fired. This was my interaction with this pistol, and like I said, I wanted to walk out of my local store with it that day, but instead, I bought a canik mete sft.
