I mean, Patrocles and Achilles were lovers in the original epic, too. And Alexander the Great often called his lover Hephastion (sp?) his Patrocles.

I read They Both Die in the End and really enjoyed it, even though I have issues with switching between POVs. Can't wait to read another of his. Also read The Lake, didn't expect the ending. I'm reading more of hers. You inspired me to move my books around my bookcases so I can really see what I have and make room for my new arrivals. Will be reading The Dark Vault, Addie LaRue, and Empire of Storm this month. Thanks for all the recommendations.

I actually DNF’d The Beautiful Ones. I thought the magical element would’ve been more prominent but it wasn’t. The fact that it was just like a Jane Austen novel was what I liked least. I I thought Hector was going to try to use the girl for her powers or something. I got like 30-40 pages in and I was bored out of my mind so I spoiled myself and stopped reading. But I can see why people love it so much.

Ahh ok I can definitely see how you could feel that way! I definitely would've been disappointed had I thought there was going to be more magic in it!

@@thisstoryaintover Yeah I wish the powers weren’t such a highlight in the synopsis. I can say I generally liked the writing of what I did read just not the book itself. And I liked Nina she was so awkward but cute.

I enjoyed TSOA, but I gave it a 2 stars. Good book, just not for me. I was expecting to cry, but didn’t. Kind of disappointed to be honest lol
