Off topic: I would love it if Aaron could give us a drone tour every other week or so. It would be so cool, years from now, to run a playlist of them and watch the development of the property. Especially if he maps out a set path to repeat over and over. Down the drive, the coop, the back formal garden, barn, cold frame/greenhouse, west side garden, front lawn, Versailles, of course the Hartley and brick circle and all the glorious new gardens out front. Low enough to see the changes but high/quick enough to not trigger Laura’s need for primping. Lol. What do you say Groupies?

Yes, I agree too!! I’m constantly telling my boyfriend about the work Laura and Aaron are doing on their property. We are planning to buy some land to build some treehouse cabins and orchards and such…so I’m always telling my man what they are doing on their property and how it inspires me! The drone footage is so much more appealing to his male mind, lol. He doesn’t have enough of am attention span to sit and watch a full video with me! 😂. Those drone videos are so awesome!!!

I’ve noticed hydrangea take until about year three to stop acting like they’re going to die when it’s above 85 degrees. At least for me in zone 6 indiana. But if you hang in there you are so rewarded. Nothing in my opinion gives back as much as a hydrangea. Especially a panicle type!

@@lauraadair5906 so I am zone 7b South Carolina. I have done no pruning and hard pruning and they always bloom. I find that if you prune hard after winter before new growth you will have really long hard stems with large blooms and if you let them grow from the old wood and don’t trim you will have thinner stems and smaller blooms bc they sprout off the old wood more than producing new, still tons of blooms but they are just shorter stems and smaller you can hard prune the next year and get larger ones. Very forgiving plant I have not always fertilized and they always preform. Main thing for blooms is FULL SUN and water, I have overhead water and they show no damage or issues. 😊☀️🪴I planted gallon size 4 years ago. I have full confidence you will do great with limelight’s. ✌🏻

Every time I watch one of your videos, I am tempted to go out to the garden and do things. This am, I already pruned my lower hanging crepe myrtle trees but boy did they put on a bloom show this year and still working it. I had fertilized everything this early spring and it paid off. Thanks for inspiring me and teaching me what I need to do and when. Speaking of hydrangeas, did that late winter feed as well as pruned them back and again, spectacular show. Have the most blooms yet. When I first moved into this old house in Dec 2016, was excited to have established plants around the perimeter. Since I found your channel while you were in your townhouse, I watch your videos faithfully. Living in drought prone central Texas, i cannot in good conscience grow a plant with the Latin for water in the first part of its name. They are fabulous plants offering beauty in the garden and both fresh and dried floral arrangements. Truly awesome.

Last year when I saw you plant the quick fire fab hydrangeas I immediately got online and ordered a fire light tidbit for my little garden. I planted it in the heat of summer and it struggled, but it is doing so beautifully this year! I did two or 33 gallon per hour in meters just as you did on yours, and it hasn’t skipped a beat even though we are in the middle of a heatwave here in Northwest Arkansas. I’m already planning on buying a limelight prime and some little lime punches!

That was amazing to hear that those hydrangeas lived without water or light for 2 weeks. Truly shows the quality of plants that Proven Winner develops. I love to hear real life testimonies of how each variety does, as it helps determine where I will choose to spend my plant dollars! Thank-you again, Laura and Aaron.

The new area is coming along so beautifully. I love hearing about the hydrangeas but couldn't stop looking at the pretty colorful background of the cut flower garden. I can't wait to see it with the lawn pathway.

(ha.ha.)... amazing - you guys are simply amazing... thanks for the video!!

Oh just love hydrangeas. Have bloomed a huge blue (microfilia) one of my Mom's (who passed in 93) and she would be so happy to see how her bush has bloomed in my yard. Love to see new ones. Esp the red ones. I assume they take full sun which makes me happy. Love to see your videos. Thanks Aaron!
