As a German, I am surprised to see Adidas on an canadian/north american YT channel. I can confirm your impressions for the most part. A reduction or discontinuation of the dividend payment is to be evaluated differently in Germany. Here it is less about the shareholders, more about protecting and strengthening the company. Since we have a different pension system, the minset regarding dividends is a bit different. It would be nice to see more German companies in videos, but since investing in these companies makes little sense for you from a tax point of view, this will unfortunately not change. We have thousands of world market leaders in various fields, but for the reasons mentioned above, this is unfortunately not reflected in the market capitalization. Fun fact: Puma was founded by the brother of the founder of Adidas. Love your videos 👌✌️

Fortis is a great move looks good would be impossible to replace them but how about going deeper and where does fortis get its supply from and the company that feed it in the peace river region and the companies in the southern Alberta that supply them with heat even the embridge pipeline(s)? That move it could you give us an analysis on them cause of one of thoes were to change that’s a direct effect on fortis would it not be?

Great video! My only concern with FTS is the high dilution, don't understand why. Increasing the div while increasing shares puts a significant strain on the business.

Hi Brandon, Thanks for your suggestions and analysis. You are doing an awesome job and I thoroughly enjoy the content of your channel. I also own FTS and plan to add it to my margin portfolios both in CAD (FTS.TO) and US$ (FTS). Please advise if I buy FTS in US$ in my Margin account and receive dividends in US$, are these dividends still considered as eligible dividends. Also in TFSA, my understanding is that holding FTS in US$ will not result in any withholding tax as it is a Canadian company. Please confirm/ clarify. Thanks to you and your dad.

I mean, I would much rather have been holding boring old FTS over the past year rather than any of the waaaaaaaaaay overpriced tech companies...which are still overpriced, IMO. Stay tuned. I'll likely get back into big tech at some point...but I have no intention of trying to catch falling knives. I HAVE started to nibble at DIS, however...and I've also added to my FTS position on the recent pullback in most of the utilities stocks. Bought some more BIP.UN, as well.

I don't know if Fortis is for 'old people'...I like to think it is for 'wise' people. I don't own it, but I can see why I should! I've wanted to have Disney for a while, and when it dropped to $100m or so...that was my chance!! usually I would not buy since there is no dividend...but its nice seeing DIS on my stock list, I am betting the dividend will be back once the 'Streaming Wars' are over ( and Disney emerges victorious), and these historic lows will end up being, well, history! I am not interested in Adidas OR Nike! no real reason...just don't turn my crank.

Not so sure about Disney. Their product has just been terrible lately. It's not just the superhero movies, the animated movies and their remakes have been panned as well. Their comics are also very lacking from a creativity standpoint.
