I'm glad someone out there is" blowing snow for fun". Going to Florida is fun. Many years ago I bought the second biggest troy built, the biggest had 4 tires because I have a long laneway. Being a smaller guy there was nothing fun about maneuvering that machine around especially on ice etc. I hated it. I now have a Kubota Tractor with the 54" snowblower and once I get a cab on the tractor, snow blowing is fun.

Hey EverybodyLoveMoe….I have like to blow snow sine we got our first SnowBoy (yes, a 2 cycle made by LawnBoy) in the 60’s. Your right though having a crappy machine that’s like wrestling Victor the bear is no treat. I have a friend looking for a tractor with attachments to manage his wood lot up in Northrop WI. How do you like your Kubota, and would you buy it again. He’s been looking at a John Deere as there’s a dealer close to his cabin.

@@blowingsnow4fun Heh, thanks for the reply. I bought a used 2003 bx2200 with 600 hrs with the bucket, lawn mower, blade and snow blower attachments. I have a country place and I love it. They are expensive but it has saved me so much physical work, and my back and I wished I would have bought it years ago. I sold a wood stove and used the tractor to load it. I would have needed 4 people to pick that up by hand. I have about 80 yards of laneway and to be honest the machine (54") is almost too big. I can complete the laneway in two passes. I want to build a cab for it but I'm really not going to be out that long to do the laneway so I might not even bother. I think your friend should definitely look into one with a wood lot. I used the bucket on mine cutting and splitting wood and it made the job so much easier. I load the wood into the bucket and set the height of the bucket the same height that I'm stacking. I do not know if the John Deere is actually better but the Kubota is built tough and I'm sure I will get many years service out of it. I would recommend your friend get the a diesel, they are just so much better. cheers.

Hey Roncaron…(hope I got that right) If I remember correctly, your kinda on the east end of Ontario. My wife & I fish in Western Ontario on LacSeul. Every summer. You would be surprised how many people are afraid of the medium to Large size Ariens snowblowers. When I recommend them for someone who lives in a location with a lot of snow, I hear “those machines are too big for me to handle.” They’ve never operated the king of snow machines with AutoTurn. There used to older fixed axel machines that were like wrestling a bear on dry concrete. Here you are at 75 years young in a location that averages over 100” of snow(I had to look that up) knocking out 3 driveways per storm with one of the biggest non pro models Ariens makes. Your husband would be proud of the way you are carrying on! Feel free to reach out, and let us know how it’s going in Kspuskasing with snow removal. How close are you to the river? Do you get any lake effect type snow there like we do here in WI near Lake Michigan? Thanks for the positive comment, and if you’re not already subscribed, please consider subscribing to the channel. Happy holidays!

@@blowingsnow4fun I explained myself a bit wrong < I actually do driverways for woman who are widowed, I am man , I actually love my machine only wish I had tracks. when the snowplow comes through it goes really well through the snowbank. I am pretty strong so I can handle pretty easily. Kapuskasing is north of Timmins in the Cochrane district actually middle of Ontario. The river is about a mile from home and doesn t influence the weather much. I already am subscribed to your channel. Merry Christmas

I’m glad you straightened me out, and it’s very nice of you to help out your neighbors. I’ve only had a chance to try a tracked machine a couple of times, but you’re right. Their traction is amazing. Thanks for being a subscriber, and Merry Christmas

Good to see you running SHO Bruce. I had used my 22 compact for this snow, you were definitely right that stuff was wet underneath. I hope for more snow!!!!!

Good job Bruce! Last weekend I got to use my snowblower for the 1st time this season as well!

Thanks, it’s been a while since we’ve had some snow here! It’s better for these machines to run than sit, so I hope the snow becomes a regular thing! Thanks for the + comment.

Definitely more than enough to use that snow blower. Beats a heart attack

Hey Scott…. Ain’t that the truth. Having a heart attack, or throwing your back out with a perfectly good snow blower sitting in the garage. Just in time for Christmas too! Thanks for the + comment.

I feel like I am your neighbor too. Ariens machines may cost A few bucks more than some machines, but all around performance and making repairs quickly makes up that small cost difference if there is any. Good to see you Bruce, missed you all summer !
@blowingsnow4fun6 күн бұрын
Hey Jack…. Good to hear from you. I agree with you completely. The few hundred dollars more for an Ariens is well worth it. These Chinese blowers sold at the big box stores have no parts availability. You can get parts for an Ariens that’s 30 years old.

We got the same amount on the south side of Oak Creek. I didn’t think it was enough to bring out my Ariens Platinum 30, so I used my single stage Honda instead. Hoping for a major storm soon! Merry Christmas to you and your family Bruce!

Hey flyjarett… I was thinking of getting out my little Toro PowerCurve, but when I saw others in my neighborhood using there big machines, I figured what the hell, I minus well too. Merry Christmas to you and your as well.

In Windsor we got 4 to 5 inches. It was nice to finally get to use the Ariens again!

Hey Keythers….. I was thrilled when I realized I was going to get to get the SHO out, so I know the feeling. It’s not good for these machine to sit so much! Happy Holidays.

Hi Bruce, just wondering if you have an impeller kit installed on yours? I recently picked up a nice used Deluxe 30 with the polar force 342cc and was wondering about adding it to mine. Yours seems to be throwing the wet heavy stuff pretty good.
@blowingsnow4funКүн бұрын
Hey Joe…. No impeller kit on mine. In my experience unless you get nothing but slushy wet snow, the SHO’s don’t need one. I’ve literally never been able to clog mine, no matter what I’ve feed it.

Wow. So far we haven't had enough to make a footprint in. Currently 30 degrees, but supposed to warm up this week and be 50 Christmas day. Merry Christmas, by the way :)
@blowingsnow4fun6 күн бұрын
Hey Rebel….. I was shocked & happy when we got the little snow we did get. I figured it’s only 3”, but I better make a video while I can based on snowfall totals of last year. Unfortunately, it’s supposed to be 40 degrees here the two days before Xmas, so I’m guessing we might have any snow left for a white Xmas. Happy holidays Rebel.

First, and first "like!" What did I win? 😀 EDIT: how did the new, extended skid shoes do on that mountable curb? Those working out okay?
@blowingsnow4fun6 күн бұрын
Hey floobertuber…. The crazy man award. I put the video up to release at one am. I didn’t think anyone would view/like it till early this morning. I have to take my hat off to you for being a super viewer of the channel. I don’t think I’ve ever been a “first viewer” of a video??? The skid shoes worked very well. The machine moved up that hump easier, which leads me to believe the bucket was dragging more than I thought. There was about an inch to 1.5” of slush at the very bottom of the dip. I didn’t even have to go down there with the shovel to clean it out, but there was no ice chunks left in there. We’ll see how they work when there’s a big wet EKD pile (the jury is still out).they did have an unseen advantage. The ground isn’t quite frozen, and when I cleared the grassy area where I Put my garbage cart at the end of the drive the SHO didn’t bite into that soft turf. The longer shape of those different skid shoes made the bucket not bite into the unfrozen grass. Good to hear from you, and happy holidays.

@@blowingsnow4fun re: "crazy man award," well, you're definitely not wrong. In this case, mainly because I have the most messed up sleep schedule known to mankind, I'm about 10 hours out of sync with the world. Glad the skids are working out so far. The grassy area part I find interesting, because I blow out a fair bit of my yard. I've thought about getting some nice long Armor Skids for my new SHO eventually, but I'll probably wait until the polymer ones it came with are showing significant wear. Take care, and mind your footing out there!
