Dear Mr. Robinson My husband passed away 5 years ago. I am 73 years old and a retired nurse. I do not know how to weld, but I love working with my husband's tools, building bird houses, shelving, pallet furniture. I feel close to him when I am working with them (his tools). I have mastered the compound miter saw, the manual miter saw box, the drill, the table saw and circular saw. Since I am on social security and a small retirement, I am careful with my expenses for materials and lumbar and the pallets are a perfect solution for me . Now I can break down a pallet a day and get the nails out with a pry bar and hammer. I would appreciate your considering making the pallet pry bar for me and would be happy to pay for your time and talent. I just thought I would ask. You may be too busy and I completely understand. At 73 yrs. of age and decreased strength in my arms, I think I need the leverage this tool can provide as well as the ease with which it works. I have learned alot by watching these videos and I want to thank you for that. Marcia Clifton

thanks for this video Kevin, i built a pallet breaker tool and welded it all together without really knowing or understanding what i was doing. it worked well for a while but then the pipe i had welded on for a handle - the metal actually tore on it and i thought maybe its time to look at a new one or redesigning what i have. I'll check out the video on the red one you made - i like things nice and simple - and the lighter it is the better too. thanks for taking us through what you made - was very helpful . New subscriber too :-)

Happy New Year! I just recently came across your channel and subscribed today. Those are nice pry bars. I have cracked so many pallet boards with a Wonder Bar that I gave up. Now I slip a saws all between the boards and cut the nails. Depending on what I'm doing with the boards, sometimes I punch out the nail fragments with a center punch.

Pallet boards can be hard to get apart but you can make some nice wood projects and it's all free love it thank you K for subscribing and thanks for watching.

Man I like watching your videos. You and me are like peas in a pod. Lol I have a ?? Why not cut the black one down and make it more narrow on that bottom bend? If you took your grinder or better yet your plasma and cut a little of that back side of that claw you could get it in the tight boards a little better? But the red one is where it’s at! Thanks for posting it because I just spent 2 hours taking 3 pallets apart with a hammer and pry bar and I hit KZbin for some ideas and you had already done all the work for me!! You are what makes KZbin great Kevin!! Kudos!!!

I am already in the process! Could u do me a favor and tell me the angle of that bend, reason being I would like to put a little bit less angle in it to keep that tip from catching the board edge on the tip end.
@Realism916 жыл бұрын
Try making the silver one but put the rebar up the thickness of your average pallet board above the pry edge, this way you could slide it in the hole sideways and turn it back under for prying. Third one was great though.

Happy holidays!! maybe make the prys interchangeable by cutting the handles down and welding on a threaded coupler, one pipe three heads.
@papounetpatenaude6 жыл бұрын
Great builds! Is there a reason the red one didn't have a sharper angle? It seems to me it would allow you to stand over the board to keep the pallet from moving. And you wouldn't have to bend over so much. You might have to bend over when slipping the tip in. But it's the part of the process where you haven't applied pressure yet.

I really like this. How come with the middle one you couldn't just slip it in the cracks sideways, then rotate it? Perhaps the neck is too wide?

Yep the third one is the best one!! Is it easier to pry the ends first then the middle instead going in a straight line?
@Robinson-Homestead7 жыл бұрын
Working great William it is easier doing the ends first for me.
