Love to see Big Dawg teach these fundamentals of football. I’m a defensive coordinator that played linebacker from Jr pee-wee till semi pro ball. I know very little about linemen and their responsibilities, but Big Dawg , helped me through my first amd most important lesson (it all starts with the stance. Good stance is the beginning of a successful play.

What’s up man I watched your videos and I really like them but I have 2 questions do you have any suggestions on techniques for defensive ends? Like drills to work on or stuff I could buy that can help me out? I was a defensive tackle in middle school and I’m not going to be able to be one my freshman year but I defiantly want to be a defensive end are there any technics you know of it would really help me out a lot I hit the gym almost every day after school but I haven’t been getting to much technic in because I don’t really know what to do and my dad who also helps me out doesn’t know any drills either because he didn’t really play the line as a kid so that would be a big help. My second question is any suggestion on food to eat to gain weight? I’m around 170 right now I want to at least be 185 for my freshman year especially if I’m going to be an edge rusher my usual breakfast are 8 eggs some sausage and a bagel and I usually cook myself steak after my gym workout but I haven’t gained that much weight from it at all. Any suggestions will help I am on the right track with my training at the gym getting stronger with my lifting and faster on the treadmill but I’m lacking the training of the most important skill and that’s technique. Thanks

Replacing down hand with first step exposes my chest for the offensive lineman... We want to bring the hands, hips, and THEN feet. We should just about balance back up when we get our second step in the ground. Thats all from Pete Jenkins
@FiveStarLinemenAcademy3 жыл бұрын
If your chest is exposed, it’s because your hips are dropping and not firing. Your gluts are not active. What your saying we call it a “ see-saw start”. We don’t teach chest exposure but we do teach, flat back at contact. Your assuming I’m saying to step to the hands first. I’m not. When you do fire out you hips by firing your hands, make sure you replace your hand on run to reframe from being in the air to long vs the run and losing your shin angle. That’s all from the Big Dawg Bible. Thanks for watching and commenting. You have yourself a great day.
