That last method is absolutely magic! I often have to clip plants and trees to place on renderings and most are not on solid color backgrounds. Nearly every example of clipping masks for complex objects is a tree on a solid blue sky. In my work I rarely find photos that clean. I've even tried the Mask AI and so so many KZbin tutorials, asked colleagues, you name it. I've never found a good solution...until now! I can't thank you enough! This video should be included as orientation information in every landscape architecture program! Thank you!

Thanks for another great video. I do have one question. In the last technique, why didn't you make the brush from the tree in the photograph? Was it because it would be harder to get realistic edges?
@PhotoshopTrainingChannel4 жыл бұрын
That's exactly right, Alan! It's already masked out for me. And I can pick the type of tree I need.

I'm stumped. This is the second video of yours that I can't get off step one. How do you get the bottom layer. I wished I could attach a screenshot to show you what I mean. There is a grey square (looks like a HDD) with "color Fill 1" beside it. Can you please explain how you got this and what's its purpose?. This was also in another of your tutorials which I tried working through today and didn't get far. Maybe somebody else can help me too. The other was "Top 5 NEW Photoshop 2020 Features & Updates Fully EXPLAINED! [June Update] [Full HD 1080p]" Thanking you.

OMG, Jesús! CTRL clicking on the new layer icon to create the layer below... That is a genius tip! I always mess up my clipped layers. I know of the ALT + new layer trick, but this tip is much more practical. After almost 25 years of using Photoshop, I'm always learning new things!

I have Photoshop CC2020 and I tried the shortcut mentioned at 10:45 to toggle the "preview" on and off but it doesn't work. In my version of Photoshop the P shortcut is for the pen tool. How can I get the toggle function to work? Thanks.
@imagemaker51504 жыл бұрын
Jesus I love your tutorials and I appreciate you sharing so much information but I'm a little frustrated. I've been trying to get a response from you on the issue of the "P" shortcut for toggling the preview on Photoshop as I mentioned above. You didn't reply to my previous email nor my comment on another tutorial. Do you have a way that we can submit questions to you directly for a reply? This shortcut would really enhance my workflow. Thanks for your reply.
