Don't ask your SF, TA, Timbersaw to gank if your picks can't help him to kill or if it's not a good fight. People get frustrated just because they lose their lane and expect that his midlaner has to resolve everything Play around your Midlaner if his pick is good and he'll create all the space for your carry.

In my opinion it is easier to climb playing support because very few people really know how to play support, which makes the matches 5v4. is even better with heroes with powerful ultimates like lich, witch doctor or warlock.

And in another game where my support 5 was afk in tower and when I asked him why he didn't help me, he told me “that's what supports do” and as he stole my experience it was basically 3v1 in my lane, we didn't have a chance...
