I still remember the day I met Levy. It was a day that changed my life forever. Sacrificing a queen for a checkmate is great, sacrificing a queen for long term positional compensation is even more amazing. Sacrificing a queen to immediately regain it (through pawn promotion or back rank weakness) is flashy but kind of banal; the kind of move you play automatically without even registering that it technically counts as a “sacrifice”.
