It's always satisfying when the king saves the day in the endgame. I played a game recently where I was dead lost, only king left, but opponent made a mistake with positioning. Opponent had bishop and knight, he chose to put them next to each other, one square away from my king. I move king beside the two, bishop couldn't defend knight, knight couldn't defend bishop, other king was too far away, therefore fork, therefore one of the two will be taken and that is a stalemate by insufficient material. My favorite non-win ever.

I absolutely love these games from history. Even though I’ve studied and analyzed many of them, it’s always fun to watch your content on them. However, I thought it could be fun if you could cover some historic tournaments, much like your commentary on modern tournaments. For example, Bobby Fischer’s historic first US Championship, or the 1959 Candidates Tournament. Plus, this way you won’t have to make an entire video on just one game (even though some games are truly deserving of that).

Actually he played a match against Karpov in ...I think 1993...for the FIDE world title. Kasparov and Nigel Short had their own association...so Karpov and Timman played. Timman lost but it was a nice match. I actually saw 2 games of K and T in Zwolle Netherlands. Timman was one of the very best players in that Era. You can look it up.
