Three reasons to buy the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. First, you love how it looks. This, honestly, is the biggest and most powerful reason to get one. Enfield absolutely nailed the proportions of the motorcycle, added a few bits that are show good attention to detail and then offer a small but good catalogue of accessories and parts to further spruce it up. The big useabilty issue were the spoked wheels that meant tubed tyres, and with that solved, living the CGT is easy too. Second, you like the idea of a cafe racer. I worked with a guy who was in a team of engineers that built the chassis and he said it is not as vibrationally precise as they wanted it to be and therefore suffers in handling as compared to interceptor

The twin cylinder engine is really refined and produces a good amount of power as well but it really compromises on mileage. Rider and the pillion both are equally uncomfortable.. 😂

I’ll pass on Mr. Clean GT 650 to next generation, who will probably ride electric bikes. Just to show them, what a raw motorcycle feels like. No electric comes closer to these growling parallel twin. That’s the ONLY reason to get Conti GT.

Yes @user-tu1zw8pj9b. Do remember that a spoked wheel is harder to fix if it gets punctured! So, always account for that too.

Pretty poor service quality and cost, brakes that aren't exactly the best out there , poor headlight and switchgear quality and I'm not making this up we had one just lose 3rd gear on our ride recently and the rider ended up doing 1,2,4,5,6th for 600kms. Would you still get one ?

I think the biggest issue that most won't talk about is the following... Many have bought these bikes and others have reviewed them on the web. Sure the Royal Enfield bikes are catching on with us riders but I have also heard about possibly the worst and scariest feeling after buying one that a customer could come across, and that is availability with parts!! Some people have to wait months for parts!! This is what deterred me from buying a Royal Enfield... Hopefully in the near future this won't happen.

If you look close the Classic 350 we shot in the studio had them too.... not easy to get rid of for sure. We believe polishing it up with brasso or something like that seems to help -- google this please, Ashes!

Yup. Quite a bit, in fact - get test rides! The Shotgun's riding position is more comfort, the GT's suspension setup is more comfortable. This is the big difference in how they feel to ride.

As an owner of an INT650 who has also ridden Duke, i can say that for a 650CC it doesn't have an aggressive top end. The power and torque delivery is concentrated more on the low and mid range which makes it quite usable. I've ridden all 3 Dukes (BS3,4 & 6). They're great little bikes with quite aggressive power delivery. You've to push the engine a lot more than you might have to do with the 650 to extract all that power. You don't really have to push the 650 beyond 6000 rpms to have fun. So the answer is YES! You can enjoy the power more efficiently than a Duke's with almost no vibrations. The only letdowns on the 650s are the weight, tyres and the soft front suspension. Cheers!

I have both. They are equally quick from 0 to 100. The KTM focuses its output on the top end, has a peaky power curve and has very weak low end. The RE has torque throughout the rev range and stays relaxed at low as well as high rpm. Comoared to the Interceptor, the Duke feels rough.

Not in the same way Saket. The RE650s don’t have the urgency of the KTMs although they’re roughly just as quick and fast. They feel more relaxed and easy
