I was born in Edinburgh, brought up in East Lothian for a few of my first years then broight up in Midlothian. Now I stay in South Africa. East Lothian is a beautiful place. 🎉

I used to live in Musselburgh, near the harbour, with our poky wee flat overlooking the beach. Summers were spent with the window open listening to the gentle waves, and the winters watching the rain lash down on the windows, and the high high tides crossing the road towards the building. Either season was wonderful. Now I'm 5 minutes from Portobello, so still very close to East Lothian, and it is a beautiful place. The Lagoons in Mussy in particular have a special place in my heart.

Thank you for the views! I've discovered my ancestors lived in Tranent in the mid 1600's so I'm all about the history there and want to go there. Hope you feel better and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family! 🎄🎉

My comment isn’t about East Lothian, but I agree that the Borders is beautiful. When I was wee, my family used to visit our relatives in the Biggar area. My Grand Uncle Davie ran a dairy farm just outside town and I loved being there, helping him with farm work (although I’m not sure I was all that helpful, but he was always gracious and accepted what help I could give). As a result, I have always had a love of the Borders that’s never left me. I was in Biggar last year and it was quite emotional… Merry Christmas to you and your family, Tony.

I’m born and bred Edinburgh, but lived in East Lothian for 9 years and I absolutely love the place. It’s rich in history and has many cool and interesting places to visit…and as you say, Tony, is just a stones throw away from Edinburgh, around 35 mins to North Berwick by train. 💙

Such a GREAT video. Tony, this is the type of thing we would love to continue to see. Edinburgh is fantastic, but the rest of Scotland is as well. I'm a Fife fan, but I am also an EL fan as well. Heck, I even like the Borders!! Let's do it!! Go Tony!! Thank you. Merry Christmas.

I live a stone's throw from Fa'side Castle and agree, East Lothian has a great deal to see and do. One thing that still amazes me is that in the year 832 (1191 years ago), two high altitude jets crossed paths over Athelstaneford making a perfect cross with their vapor trails. Nae wonder we won the battle 😁👍

Nice video Tony, it certainly sounded a bit wild. East Lothian has so many very interesting places and so much history. I didn’t know about Glenkinchie Distillery, but hopefully check it out in 2024. Best Christmas wishes to you and your family, the best for 24 👍🎄🥃
