I think we have to consider the meaning of the word ‘controversial’. There is nothing controversial about these. They’re leather. They’re not nubuck…. That’s it. The colourway is exactly the same. These are probably a better shoe to have, they’ll last longer, they’ll look better the more used they are. Pretty simple to me.

It’s basically for the shoeheads that prefer the OG specs (closest to what MJ wore in ‘89) and thus would’ve preferred a new retro release of the 4s with durabuck for its 35th anniversary instead of a variant version.

Nothing wrong with being a sneaker guy as an older person. The older generations paved the way when it has come to shoes in general. Nowadays it is way too many ugly and uncreative sneakers. Funny thing is the OG and or 80s/90s inspired shoes sale out way more than other sneakers do. 😊

The OG’s in Durabuck are better in my opinion, but the leather looks good too. But those 2019’s hit different 🔥🔥 bring those back with the OG shape!

Didn’t start collecting until the 2019 Playoff 11s so just missed out on the OG 4s. These remained 4s were a must cop…and they’re the first pair of 4s in my collection I can rock stress free on a rainy day (AMMs, Lightnings, and Military Blacks).

Put on foot yesterday and all my reservations about leather verses “Durabuck” changed! These are 🔥🔥🔥 the better material makes for a different scent as well but shoes are a plus. Get em if you can but they def will or are sold out by now 😞

I hit on the shock drop and I think they look great! All panels are a light tumbled leather on the adult pairs. Shout out to the full grain mention - the Supreme AF1's are also clearly stated as full grain leather and no one ever mentions it they just hate on them.

These are too the close to the Motorsport 4’s Alternate black royal blue…..2 differences Nike tab vs Jordan tab and hints of blue vs red… I really didn’t need these because I have the 2019 bred release so I passed on these along with having the M 4 alternate..

You should’ve done a review when you get the men’s version in your size. Then you can bring in the sb version comparison. I had the 2019 sold those and then got these 2024’s. These 2024 are so much more comfortable and wearable. I got them the other week and wore them for a full day and I didn’t want to take them off. They felt so good on feet. My pinky toe feels so relieved to not be smashed. 😂

I just published a story about aesthetics vs information/substance. I used the GR Samba OG Nylon Pack vs the Consortium Cup Politics and BSTN pairs to make my point. The price points are comparable. Everyone seems crazy for the GR, it restocked once or twice in as many months. But it’s misshapen and utilizes lower grade materials. I prefer the lesser hyped Politics and BSTN pairs that paid more attention to the important qualities of the shoe in their reinterpretations. ✌🏽💙👟

I've gotten 2 pairs secured so far they will be for trade bait if i miss on military blues 💙 🪖 4s. I still got Black Cement 4s from 2019 that i prefer. Too shiny they should've made the trim matte finish for better contrast. The old ones are dull with shiny trim that's what makes the blacks gel these have to much shine imo but the shape is 👩‍🍳 💋
