That incident happened 2 years ago and I was 13 at that time. Now I’m 15 and have since left after 2 years and all I could genuinely say is that. Two notable experiences I've had with service workers at restaurants: .Many years ago, I had a burger in Hardee's, and after taking the first bite I looked in the wrapper and saw a small, dead, baby cockroach. I took the burger up to the counter, pulled aside the guy who looked like the manager, pointed into the open wrapper and very quietly said, "Hey, can you take care of this?" A few minutes later he brought me a brand new burger and an apple pie, free of charge, likely very grateful that I didn't make a scene. This was in Florida, there's roaches everywhere, and you will see them occasionally no matter how clean you keep the building. .A few years ago, I was at Cracker Barrel and ordered my usual steak, medium-well, and mashed potatoes. When the waitress brought my steak, she specifically said, "I know you said you wanted this medium-well, but to me, this looks more like medium-rare; I can take this back and get it a bit more done if you want me to." Just wanting my food and not being very picky when it comes to steak, I insisted that it was fine and ate it anyway. When the waitress came back to give us our bill, she said, "Hey, it's pretty obvious that steak was undercooked, so I went ahead and talked to the manager and the cashier. You shouldn't have to pay for that steak." Sure enough, I got about $12 worth of steak for free. That was the only time I got free food for it, but that wasn't the last time that particular Cracker Barrel has undercooked my steak. The takeaway of these stories is that, if you're a chill and accommodating customer, service workers will be EXTREMELY grateful, sometimes to your direct benefit.

When I asked why, he said that they're just students who are just trying to get by, and they should owe no responsibility in terms of service. About the thing about knowing what a reasonable amount of pay is, what a reasonable amount of working hours is, I never learned any of that, leaving me in a bad position. Between health issues when I was that age and the eventual shutdown of everything due to covid, I never really got the chance to learn any of those necessary life skills. The thing is, there was a high school class that was meant to teach some of that stuff, such as how to do an interview. I bs'd my way through that class in a way that no one has ever before. When covid came around and shut down my school, students were left with the option of taking classes through zoom or taking their current grade, lowering it a bit, and sticking with it. Zoom classes obviously sucked, so I went with the latter. This lead to me passing that class despite how I'd almost certainly fail it due to it's nature. And as funny as that is, it resulted in me having none of the life skills that class was supposed to teach.

Why can’t you do it now?” “I left my wallet in the car. You’ll have my food ready when I come back, right?” *proceeds to never return* When a customer orders 5 meals while their kid is screaming their lungs out in the backseat

When it comes to customer service I typically be polite, order my food quickly and pay for it in nearly the exact amount as to not make things more stressful or complicated while giving a polite "Thank you, have a nice day/evening" at the end of the interaction. Although it was brief, I worked in customer service too and good god was it a nightmare when you were running behind and customers felt like they were judging your every action from behind the counter as you scrambled around to get their order while trying to not bump into other employees within the haphazardly small walking area. People in these jobs really don't get payed enough to be trash talked and shit on for providing a service that people otherwise wouldn't have access to were it not for the workers there. Just remember that when you want your Iced latte with mocha sprinkles and extra whipped cream, you wouldn't be able to have it in the first place if those workers weren't there, *_GARRY_*

I have a perfect customer service record it’s pretty great to have ability to bite my tongue I used to (when I didn’t have a job) just snap back roasting the ever loving sht outa whoever disrespected me, and it’s always really funny to think about the fact my bosses know the look on my face when I want to go off and somehow I scare my coworkers with how well I handle rude customers??? There was a lady the other day I was ringing up her produce and she proceeded to insult and scold me for making an error for accidentally ringing up 2 bunches of beets instead of 1, God I wish I would have snapped but I’d like to keep my costumer service record clean not including my perfect Secret Customer service record.

I worked at a fast food place and we don’t hate you, we just hate our job. Just don’t be a jerk and we’ll appreciate it.

I don’t know what it’s like to work behind a counter, thank goodness, but the least anyone can do is show people some respect. I got so angry at someone yelling at the barista at a Starbucks once, literally got out of my seat and stood in front of them. Sure, I’m awkward as hell and really didn’t say much, but they yelled at me instead and left the place in a huff, and I apologized to the barista afterwards because that person sure as hell didn’t.

Working in burgerking, and one of the most awkward and uncomfortable things customers sumtimes do is thank us and say we are doing great and to hang in there. I never expect it but it throws me off and makes me freeze in an attempt to reply back
