Everything in this video is 100% spot on. As a U.S. Air Force retiree, I particularly related Katherine's observations. I joined in 1979 as a very naive 18-year old, and had lots of internal conflict as I rose in rank. Things never felt right, and I didn't fit in at all. I'm thankful to God that military life is just a distant memory for me. I NEVER, EVER encourage young folks to enlist. To Katherine's list, I would add unaccompanied duty assignments that separate married couples for months, and even years, at a time. Children caught up in these situations often become delinquents, and the parents become adulterers. Lengthy separations kill families.

I worked my whole life, until last year when I listened to Bryan's sermons on the KJV bible on his main page. There I learned that I was blaspheming God by working outside the home, I asked my husband if I could stop working and told him why and he said, yes. So, in the year I've been home our finances have greatly increased, even more so than when I was pulling a paycheck, so I do believe if you choose God's ways, he will bless you and give you favor. (God gave my husband many avenues to pull in extra money, like double what I would have made working full time, even during the plandemic.)

Thank you for this, for about 4 years now I’ve thought of joining the Army, specifically becoming an army ranger. But recently (even weeks/days before this video) I’ve felt convicted about my decision and am now possibly reconsidering this career path, though I’m not sure yet what else I would do in my life, if those reading could possibly pray for me on all this I’d greatly appreciate it. She got the training and she got out but now everyone in that field will be forced to get vaccinated and we don’t play that game. It was all for nothing and she had a horrible time while enlisted. yes…i don’t see a lot of videos speaking about this. to be honest i thought it was a good thing to be in the military especially as a christian. here’s my take…i don’t think christian’s can be in any political position and if we are we are very likely to end up in jail somewhere for Jesus because his words and teaching and the life he lived abhorred the ways of hypocrite politicians….when Jesus was accused by pilate he didn’t resist evil instead he kept silent the majority of the conversation. if we are in christ it makes no sense for us to be there. God established the government therefore it’s the LORDS job to judge the world not ours…..you’re signing your life away!!! our fight isn’t against flesh and blood. the military culture is not one that exalts christ. my significant other joined because we wanted him to get away from his toxic household and make some money while doing so. he also thought the Lord would be pleased with it because of the scripture saying God established the government(which is true) but i don’t think that is OUR calling as born again christian’s..the people he’s training with cuss all the time, some are there literally FLIRTING with others with rings in their fingers, the drill sergeants manipulate you and cuss you out, the people he’s with love to make “jokes” about me being home “cheating on him” and so much more carnal things!! a whole bunch of aggressive, Godless, and lost people… search up what jesus told the soldiers that asked him what they should do, read carefully what he said to them!! yes God established government but i don’t think it’s our place to serve in that institution there may be an exception to the rule idk, but in todays age being in politics literally requires sacrificing your faith in many ways…there are so many customs and culture traditions where you may HAVE to go against your faith or you gonna face some legal consequences…another thing is the fact that you have to SWEAR into the military it’s called an oath of enlistment when Jesus cleary said never to swear but let your yes be yes and your no be no anything else is of evil

I tried to avoid service by staying in school. Finally, after 4 years, I lost my 2S deferment and became 1A (subject to the draft). Trying to stay out of Vietnam proved futile as it continued on and on. I was able to enlist in the Air Force but it still did not keep me from being located in a combat area over in SEA. I hated every year of my 4-year enlistment and tried to stay as unaffected as possible (fat chance). The temptations to sin were many and I must admit I failed in several areas but my last year in service back in the states I got saved and the final 10 months were as equally a struggle as the first 38. I had to overcome many obstacles but through it all, I emerged a better man. What an eye-opener that experience was. I witnessed first hand many of the things you described and to this day I still am surprised that I lived through it all. The Lord had other plans for me for which I will forever be eternally grateful. Blessings to you and your family, Bryan.

Brian, this was a great sermon. About myself, I am one of those highly trained Jesuit career officers who served six years as an enlisted man and thirty years as a commissioned officer, in all three components, active, reserve, and guard. One of the big problems Christians face when serving in the military is losing focus on their walk with the Lord. We often get wrapped up on moving up the corporate ladder and backstab each other to get there. The drugs officers get addicted to are the promotions and accolades from men. Pride is the milk of the military. I have seen many professing Christians change tone when they leave fellowship and get wrapped up in the day to day business of the service. I am guilty myself. I don't believe that serving in the military is necessarily an indicator that one is not saved, nor will one lose their salvation for serving, but it will make a child of the Lord spiritually sick. I do believe Christians serving in the Armed Forces should make good on their contracts though. We should seek the Lord's wisdom before serving in the military voluntarily.

when I was lost I joined the Marine corps and was sent home from recruit training when they diagnosed me with an immune deficiency after salvation and a couple years went by I did really hard to try to get into the Marine corps again and then the national guard. but praise the Lord that it didn't happen. I am glad you have an opinion on this, part of the reason I served was so you could voice your opinion freely. The scripture used is spot on, but a Christian can be in the military and will not do the corrupt things you described, cause they do happen, but you should talk to your wife because she served so she should know according to the ucmj you are obligated to repord, or even refuse to follow unlawful orders. You do not here about all of the reports that happen when soldiers do that because the military keeps that in house. I know from personal experience, not from reading books or watching movies what it is to serve and I can tell you the fields are truly right for harvest and my advice would be if a Christian wants to enlist they should know that they know as sure as they are saved it is God's will, because they will be entering into the belly of the beast and God can use them but they need to know without a doubt that is what God wants... I was blessed to be used by God to help soldiers see the revelation of Christ and the Lord save them, even a Saudi during DS that was quite amazing. Anyway I am not saying I would tell someone to enlist, I would have a great discussion on if it is God's will for them, so I am glad you feel you know what God's will is for people, unfortunately I guess everyone in the military will be going to hell because there would be no light on a hill and no one to witness to them or lead by example to show them a better way to live. 2 Timothy 2:4 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. FYI. The marine corps is based on the Roman legions that is why they say seprfi, Latin shorten version means forever faithful even unto death. Good point to make for the “turn the other cheek” excuse to act like a coward or preach being a doormat. Jesus ALSO spoke of taking up a sword. A slap across the face was a sissy move, and turning the other cheek was also a non-verbal way of saying “you hit like a girl, try again”. Jesus didn’t say if someone punched you, stabs you, burns down your house, robs you blind, to offer up more for them to attack and destroy. He didn’t say to perpetuate crime. I’m 19 and I’m in the navy.. I joined after high school, my contract ends 2027. A lot goes on inside that no one really talks about to civilians. There’s corruption yes, but some of us (Christians) are making it through. I’m very anxious about deployment next year.

I had a good friend whom joined the ADF in the 1980's. I saw him a year later and couldn't believe this was the same guy?! He was depressed, angry and too quiet-a complete contrast to how he USED to be-before joining the Air Force. He left it, 4 years later and i caught up with him. He told me some things and admitted he was ashamed to say 'other things. In less than a year, he had committed suicide, i lost a good mate and i still think about him. I would NEVER recommend anyone joining the Australian Defence Force-or any Other Military!'

I remember years ago that my sister got married to this man and he seemed like a really nice man. But then he joined the air Force and then when he was released from the air Force he was a full-time alcoholic and would beat her. Later we overcome it by going to AA and stuff, but he wouldn't believe better used to beat her. But my sister was told by some official in Washington state where he you know left the military that was a common thing to have these people leave the air Force and be alcoholics. So it does bad things to people. Jesus is the only way to peace.

Just a little combat here a while back I read an article in sojourner magazine and I found out something that I never knew. Ends up at thousands of Pentecostals were put in prison during world war II because they refused to fight. They said joining the military was something that a Christian couldn't do. It's so hard now as far as I know almost all the Pentecostal churches have changed but also read some things about the early Baptist and they were often pacifist. I was brought up in a Baptist church and they sure weren't past office. So to me it's a bit crazy they need to go back to their beginning. Praise jesus.

Well brother... If only people had the option to work a factory, construction, or otherwise decent job with good pay and benefits. We have to remember. Many people are living in distressed areas of the country where job opportunities are few and far between. Especially now, during this economic downturn. For those people. The military may be their only option left for a decent life. We must bear that in mind when discussing the matter.

04:20 Matt 6 - that is not a valid reason, as the same reasoning can be used about any sphere of life, so any "public servant" including those politics, government employees, etc. It can also refer to the private sector too. I empathise with what you are saying Bryan, but any government can misuse their own own military, so it is no "fault" of the military. The military should be there for defensive, not offensive purposes, that the basis of the "just war" theory. Sadly that has been superceded by the "pre-emptive war" theory.

I still remember my cousin bragging to me when he got out of Vietnam in the 1960s about gunning down civilian water buffalo for sport and laughing about it! Another veteran of the very early Vietnam War in like 1959 or 60 had to take out an American Lieutenant because he was a coward and he sent everybody else into a hornet's nest and they were killed and so when he came back after crawling through the swamp a couple of days later he found the lieutenant hiding without a gun he was a coward a white shirt gave orders and nothing else he was an a****** but he paid the price
