Very Informative video. I’m 55 years old, and retired 5 years ago. I’m a believer of planning ahead for the future. I started getting retirement plans at a very early stage in my life, which allowed me to plan out how much I need to save on an annual basis. I planned to retire at age 50, and was very disciplined about my finances. Today I am enjoying my life and get to spend quality time with my children and parents. I was always told by my parents early in life: “If You Fail to Plan, You Are Planning to Fail”

Retiring now can be a smart move if you’re ready to embrace the next chapter of life. What are the three reasons being discussed here?

Sometimes the timing of retirement hinges on personal readiness and financial security. I’d love to know how these three reasons align with those factors.

It’s intriguing to hear advice encouraging earlier retirement-most advice focuses on working longer. I wonder how these reasons account for long-term planning.

Retiring now could mean more time for travel, hobbies, or spending time with loved ones. I’m curious if these reasons touch on those lifestyle benefits.

The emotional and psychological readiness for retirement is often overlooked. I hope these reasons address more than just finances.

Health plays a big role in retirement timing. If you’re in good health now, retiring earlier could maximize your ability to enjoy those years

Key point: There’s a huge difference between Life Expectancy and Healthy Life Expectancy. The median age for a first heart attack or stroke is 65.5 and first cancer diagnosis is 66. If you make it without these your health will be a lot worse at 75 than 65. You won’t be climbing mountains at 75. There is a marked increase in deaths from the 75th year to 76. What this means is : You’ll spend far less at 75-84. You basically have 12 years to do what you enjoy actively from 63-75 . Therefore the time is constrained . Don’t go spending crazy but get your bucket list tucked in the first 10-12 years but keep invested to see you through the last 10.

Great video! #1 Get debt free as soon as possible. #2 We can not control time or healthy time to enjoy life. I’ve seen a number of very rich multimillionaires who got a death sentence from cancer and said their money is absolutely useless and would give it all up to be healthy once again. Great point to illustrate a widowed or single person. Especially women. On average they live 5 years longer than males.

I like this different shift in mindset to retiring earlier as opposed to later so you can enjoy your youth.

Good video. Thankfully having a few rental properties has allowed me to retire at 54 and be the primary caregiver to my 3yo granddaughter.

The best video I’ve seen for retirement. This video gave me a clearer view of my mortality. I’m excited to get out of work and retire sooner than I think.

Well said! I found that I needed a different financial planner to help me put my plan into perspective. It was my lack of confidence in my original financial plan that prevented me from retiring sooner!! Time is precious! Love the demonstration of the various scenarios using the suns. This does hit hard. Thank you!

You are so deceived. Many kids don't get along with their parents. Also, there are lots of single people out there like me. Retired at 57 after 32 years as a high school teacher.
