for the 10 10 10 riddle, you said that this was an "equation" which isn't ever meant to be in time notation. This would be technically correct if you had said both sides aren't equal and kept it vague but the fact that you said it's an equation makes it so that we should rule out the stuff that isn't exactly math-related. I think you tried a little too hard to misdirect people into thinking it should be math-related and ended up compromising the nature of the riddle.
@Wildcat20172 жыл бұрын
Let's just assume we someone hadn't ruled out time. Its still incorrect as 9.50 is not time notation, it would be 9:50. So 9.50 is, for all intents and purposes, 9 and 50/100, and 50/100 of an hour is 30 minutes, making 9.50=9:30. Which is not ten to ten

No. If the glass is conical, the top would be wider. So, when you flip it, the water fills in a larger diameter space, which causes the perceived "height" to go down.
@varisgupta2 жыл бұрын
@@johnnytmcq Actually, even if it's conical, this method would perfectly identify if it's less or more than half. A cup that is exactly half filled will occupy 50% of available volume, not available height. The top 50% and bottom 50% by definition have the same volume, irrespective of shape or tapering. Tapering only affects how high along the cup's vertical height the 50% mark would be.

While i like some of your puzzles this one was pretty bad. Riddle 1: You have to assume that the last card is given to the dealer. There is no universal law or rule that it must happen exactly this way. Riddle 2: Your solution only works with a perfect cylinder shaped water glass. None of my glases at home have this shape and i probably neven seen one in a perfect cylindric shape. Most have cylindric shaped glasses do not have an exact 90° angle inside... Riddle 3: 9,5 is NOT a way to display time in any system i know. It could probably show the amount of hours or minutes, but than it would mean 9h30m... While those riddles can be fun, they have nothing to do with pure logic.
