@@taracollins5597 yeah, and not just American ones either, Dutch ones too. My manager used to be like that when I was a teenage supermarket employee. Made me come in when I had already worked ten hours at another location because they double scheduled, and did not believe me when I called in sick, until I walked in with my sweaty head and said to him "Do I look f*cking healthy to you or can I go now!!??" First story is every woman’s worst nightmare. Getting approached by a creep who can’t take the hint that you just want to do your job, and them asking for your number and trying to “flirt” but it’s the most creepiest stuff imaginable. And then getting aggressive when you try to enforce your boundaries or tell them that their pickup attempt is not attractive. Like seriously man, we’re just trying to live our lives, we don’t need creeps making us feel unsafe and uncomfortable at work😭😭

As a man, I just want to say I'm really sorry for what you have to deal with from entitled, poor excuses for men who think they're "gods gift" and won't take no for an answer. It's gross, it's wrong, and it's just stupid too. If there's any guy reading this that needs to see it, I have to ask, do you really think that women are just going to chase after you if you randomly start "chatting them up" like *that?* Especially if the woman in question is *working????* I sometimes feel embarrassed by association to be "of the same group" (hetero cis males, essentially) as these guys.

I work in the electronics department at Walmart. The most disturbing thing that happened was this couple, both meth’t out of their minds came around 10:30 pm and tried to get a prepaid plan for their stolen phone. Basically the dude had a hunting knife in a holster and somehow he cut himself in the palm real bad. He was bleeding a lot and I told him “you might want to get that checked out” and he looked down at the wound and started opening it aggressively and he said “looks fine to me” and his wife started dying laughing.

Fully believe the first story and the lack of empathy from the manager. I worked at Walmart and one day some young guys, maybe three or four of them, started flirting with me while I was working the till. I politely rejected them and they started to threaten me, said they were going to SA me and steal the till so I called security. Security came but said they couldnt do anything because they were "with their family''. They weren't and even if they were what difference would that make? They made me serve them and when I spoke to my manager to complain I was told to just tell someone they were instore if I saw them again. No footage review, no apology, no reprimanding "security". I was young at the time and too dependent on needing a paycheck to think of walking out or closing my till without permission. Luckily nothing happened and I never saw them again, but I was terrified and called my mom to pick me up that night. Hated that job

Yeah as a guy when it’s a story about something happening to a guy it really is terrifying. I swear these stories make it seem that men are invincible to creepy things because it’s mostly about women dealing with creeps. @@somemaskedguy9445 it's mostly about women dealing with creeps because they're often the ones who are dealing with this kind of shit over men having to deal with this stuff, not that they don't have the issues but it's not that anyone thinks men are invincible. women are well aware of their stature and strength difference between us and a man so it's even scarier. it just happens a whole lot less to men and men are a lot less likely to report it. there's a reason most of these stories are from the pov of a woman.

I've worked at Walmart & yes managers don't care about their employees,only the store. A customer would follow me around the store even when cleaning in parking lot. He never said anything so nothing could be done. Corrupt management allows so much that legally shouldn't occur.

Note to this: I was in ASDA known as the Brit Walmart basically, as I got all my things and finished at the register some creepy old guy with glasses sat at the bench inside as I was about to snack watched me with this smirk and then doing something with his phone. I definitely recall seeing him somewhere before. I hurried up and called my Cab, its a good job I did because 3 mins. later he came out and tried watching me again, he hadn't brought anything. I said "hey who tf are you, who do you work for, are you following me?!! Next he stumbled some words before he'd ran, I went off for him due to the related crazy events I been experiencing. Stay alert people, if it happens to me and ppl in my story it can happen to you.

These stories are the perfect example of why you shouldn't feel pressure to be nice to creepy stalkers. Don't indulge, just straight up tell them to fuck off. It'll send the signal that you're belligerent and you're not going to be an easy victim. Don't be afraid of getting fired. Your employer should have your back and if they don't, they're not worth working for. No minimum wage job is worth your safety.
@WynneL
@WynneL 9 ай бұрын
Exactly. A person who's too polite and nice to set boundaries is exactly what stalkers are looking for, so set them early and make them firm. You do not have to answer any question they ask, and the less you say the better.

While I agree that being rude is a good way to get harmless creepy people off your back, it also might provoke an aggressive creepy person who could potentially do something dangerous. It’s hard to tell the difference between the two which is why women will often opt for being polite for their own safety. So everyone reading the above comments should not take their stupid advice that could get someone killed. Instead, be polite, lie about personal details, get into a public and recorded spot with other people around, find security or call the police, and have something heavy or sharp on your person and be prepared to use it if necessary.
@Solonneysa
@Solonneysa 9 ай бұрын
Creeps don't care if their victims are polite, and being aggressive immediately just means escalating immediately. If the victim is rude then you'd justify aggression, saying it's their fault for being rude. Stop blaming the victims like it's their fault that the creep is a creep. Being polite is not flaw. Being a creep is.
@budgiebirdy
@budgiebirdy 9 ай бұрын
@@Solonneysa Where am I blaming victims?? I'm saying not to indulge them, do what they ask, go with them because they ask you to because you don't want to be rude, stuff like that. That's not blaming victims. I'm saying to discourage them from pursuing you. That's also not saying that being polite is a flaw. That's such a straw man argument.
