Serves work great, great a decent backhand "skrewball", spin away from their body, with the wind is a great outdoor dirty one(it really adds a ton if it's got some side wind), use the deep topsin and hit some short dirty serves after. Rec players are hilarious against the serving

From the rule book: Spin Serve (4.A.5) Manipulating the ball to add spin during the release of the ball is not allowed. Some natural rotation of the ball when it is released is allowable but the server must not impart manipulation or spin prior to striking the ball to serve. This applies to the volley serve and the drop serve.

He is not spinning the ball during release, that rule only applies to what you are doing with your hand that is contacting the ball before your serve. What you do with your paddle to impart spin is totally up to you so long as it is below your waist/wrist

He does actually say “don’t get caught” which is implying it’s illegal. Most players just play recreationally for fun and not competing in tournaments. I could do this serve with my friends and no one would call it.

@@lanetimepditty That's deceiving. When a player lobs the ball in the air before the serve, the receiver can't see if he was spinning with his hand, therefore, to be fair it is illegal to lob the ball when serving. In Pickleball, you're not to deceive your opponent(serving).

He didn’t. He simply dropped the ball. That’s legal. On the other serve, he enforced spin on the ball with his hand which is illegal, hence why he says “don’t get caught.” But you’re allowed to simply drop the ball and create whatever spin you want to as long as it’s with your paddle itself, and not your hand, which is what he does here.

​@ForceOfWill100 look up the rules. He is correct. It's called the double bounce rule. After the serving team serves cross court it must bounce before making contact. Then the receiving team must return it to any portion of the serving teams side and it must bounce as well. Past the kitchen too. Then the rally is now live. This rule it to allow for better rallies.
