Out of the three I have an original Winchester model 1887 lever action shotgun 12 gauge made exactly 1887 (first year production) I am planning to send it to Doug Turnbull and have him try to restore it to its former glory

IMO the timer at a SASS competition should make an oldschool "ping" or "gong", not that profane & incongruous 21st century beep. But that's just me, I guess. But would be nicer, wouldn't it?

The lever I selected for this video was a Winchester 1887 in desirable 12 gauge manufactured in first production year. It’s lotted with a beauty 1887 10 gauge, lot #46 in the upcoming Sporting and Collector auction, happening October 4th-7th.

Why are there not different shotgun classes. Single barrel Double with hammers Double box lock (no hammers) Pump action Lever action

The SASS categories are separated by style of shooting and attire for the most part. I believe the Frontiersman category is one of the few with a weapon requirement, where you’ll need an external hammer shotgun.
