Hi Anna, what if after you nudge the living skin back and there is a excess of skin hanging? do you just leave it as you can't cut?

Thank you for the great advice - I'm going to start the oil after washing immediately. My question is, does the Jojoba oil need to be combined with another oil? (You mentioned coconut.) I do have on hand: Vitamin E, Almond, Argan, and Apricot oils. I'm wondering which one would be the best to combine with the Jojoba oil (to put a drop on after washing).

I'm a natural nail Girly too!! If you want your nails to grow quicker and thicker.. take a garlic clove, cut it in half and rub the garlic on your nails once a week, I like to mince the garlic and add a few drops of lemon juice to it and make a paste with it. I put it on my nails and let it sit for about 20-30 minutes. Sometimes I leave it as is and let it soak into the nail plate, sometimes I'll put the paste on the nail and wrap a small piece of foil around each nail if I'm gonna be moving around so it doesn't fall off. Then after 20-30 minutes, discard your paste, wash with Dawn dish soap(or any good quality grease/oil remover and add cuticle oil for moisture protection. I'm glad to hear your nails are looking better these days!! Good luck on your nail growth journey!!!

We all do it! We live in San Antonio and water conservation is very important here. In the summer we have strict water usage guidelines. However, it’s because my daughter lived in LA some years ago when water rationing first started. They were encouraged to turn off the water when brushing teeth, showering, etc. She taught us to do the same. So my family has been doing it for a long time. We also landscaped our yard with native plants. Even my granddaughter (now 21) is doing it! 🌹

Thank you so much! I'm 62, and all of my life I've had hideous, scraggly cuticles and such short nail beds. I would roughly try to push cuticles back or even scrape them, resulting in painful hangnails that don't heal quickly and even infections around the cuticle. I've always hidden my hands and that is so sad!! Thanks to you, I know it is not the cuticle, but living skin stuck to the nail! After only 3 days of kerasal before bed, I cannot believe the difference! I am also starting to use cuticle oil after washing before my cera ve cream. For the first time, I have hope, I really do! Thank you again so much!

Thank you for showing the difference between the cuticle and the proximal nail fold! I always thought they were both considered the cuticle, so when I'd push back the nail folds as a kid, they'd be irritated, so I stopped tending to all of it. I am SO glad I found your channel at the beginning of 2023! For years and years I had overgrown/stretching skin around my nails plus very dry skin on my whole hands. I work at a hospital lab and we have a strict policy of short nails with no nail polish. I wash and desinfect my hands many times a day and it has always been painful, as I had open spots and inflammated areas around my nails for years. Also I picked at my nail skin a lot, as I constantly had dry skin hanging off the edges...and endless circle :( After watching THIS video, I bought a 2 bottles of Jojoba oil (and put some essential lemon oil in it, as I don´t like the smell otherwise), one for my bathroom and one for my workplace. And after following your strict routine for a while, all, I repeat ALL my issues have gone! :) I can not thank you enough for your advise and your great videos! Greetings from Germany ♥

Thanks for these useful tips! I'm 55 years old, and I've always had this problem (though I didn't knew what it was) with the living skin adhering to the cuticle/nail plate and growing with it till the living skin started to fray, and because of that I never could have a manicure done. I'd always end with bleeding fingers because, of course, they were cutting (as I know now) the living skin. I've recently ordered Kerasal and some nail oils, and just started using it, and I'm very hopeful that finally (after 50 years) I'lll have nice looking nails. Finally!

Thank you SOOOO much for your knowledge and wisdom. I know my nails do not enjoy polish. You are the only professional who acknowledged this. I have wasted so much money trying to get my nails to grow. This year I started with a manicurist in the spring (March 2024) and asked for the IBX. I know this helped my nails but between a flood in her apartment, COVID and getting bit by a scorpion, I lost interest in it. So I went to another salon and they used Gelish polish. Each manicure was $55 and it only lasted 7 days before it started coming off. So, I searched the internet and found you. I love your knowledge and have started using OPI Repair Mode, Jojoba oil and Kerasal Intensive Foot Repair. I am only a few days in but I have confidence you have lead me on the right track. THANK YOU! I love the nail files you recommended too.

For the last 2 days I've been tempted to just go ahead and cut some of the ugly Proximal Nail Fold (PNF} but I'm trying to be a good student and not do that. Anyway I applied a drop of this and went about my day. I even forgot I had done it and when I went to shower later that day both my cuticles and PNF looked as if I had done a manicure. I have been trying to follow this routine for the last week. I have seen a huge improvement in both my nails and my skin. I have icthyosis and tend to have extremely dry skin on my hands. This is really helping. Kerasal is not readily available in my country but I decided to use up all the foot balms I have bought over the years for the icthyosis..as I say..huge improvement in 1 week. My question is..should we be applying nail varnish and concentrating on our skin area or no nail varnish and skin and nail bed? Thank you

Your channel is such a gem, thank you so much! I have recently started caring for my nails, cause I have a habit to pick the skin and bite my nails when I'm stressed. The only thing preventing it - is having them manucured! I have recently started using cuticle oil (cnd, it had jojiba on it), but I got it before finding your channel, next time I'm getting a bigger bottle of jojoba oil for the same money. So, the difference in my cuticle while using the oil a couple times a day is immense! I don't have any hangnails and they were constant before! I don't have to cut my cuticle anymore! I have never had this in my life tbh!

So good to hear this! Please just remember that what you think is a cuticle is actually skin fold. That should not be cut. Also this skin fold can tear when dry and not elastic. Try adding a cream I recommend in this video at night. Game changer! :))

I had my mouth wired shut for 6 weeks and was putting Vaseline on my lips constantly throughout the day. I sorted rubbing what was on my fingertips into my cuticles and in a short time, my nails were longer and my fingers looked great.

Such a great video -- thank you. Do you have any suggestions for gardeners??? I'm pulling weeds and digging in the dirt (gumbo clay soil) frequently, and even though I wear gloves, this activity wrecks havoc to my nails.

I think whenever I've gone to a nail place to get a manicure they haven't known the difference between the proximal nail fold and the cuticle. They usually snip away the skin which I always thought was cuticle! Yikes! I'm going to try your techniques. Thank you so much!

I read recently from a beautician …all you need to do for cuticles is take a nail brush and rotate it gently in circles over your cuticles ….a few times …in shower or bath or wherever …nothing else …every day ……my cuticles were always a problem ….no more thanks to this ! 🎉

Thank you for all your videos. I saw this one, got the oil and some hand lotion, decanted into bottles and pumps and put in bathroom and kitchen. I have been religiously using them. In a month my bitten nails have grown and my cuticles have moved back so you can almost see half moons. My nails are soo much better. I don’t like chemicals as my nails are thin and now ridged with age. The dior glow is stunning. It only costs what a manicure would cost so overall not as expensive as it seems. What I can’t get here in the UK is lamasel or anything similar.

I tried this polish with the clear polish by Expressie and also with the Essie long wear top coat and I loved the shine of the Long Wear Top coat. Would love your thoughts. You do an amazing job polishing nails! Really, enjoy your videos!

2 things: Oil literally changed my nails" life, especially after I bought jojoba from Amazon, the exact one from the beginning of this video, and vitamin E oil from Dollar Tree. The only 3 ingredients in it are sunflower oil, coconut oil, and vitamin E. It's a buck. Seriously. Also, I bought a bunch of refillable oil pens off of Amazon so that I would always have INE around. It helped so much!

Right. I was watching a video on how to moisturize hair, the youtuber went on with unfunny jokes, rambling about unnecessary things. This video gets to the point.
