Thanks for trying out and demonstrating the improvements we've made to the LogOX Brock, looks like it works well with the setup you've got there. Hope you were able to figure out your daughter's car troubles too!

I use a picaroon to drag rounds into my tractor bucket. Then Park the tractor next to the splitter. And use the picaroon to pull the rounds from the tractor bucket onto the splitter. I find the log ox to be awkward for me to use for this.

I've gotta say your new log splitter is very impressive! Being vertical, with it's faster cycle time, and ability to just keep quickly splitting the pieces, is the way to go versus a horizontal unit.

We had a coolant leak on our skid loader today. A fitting below the thermostat housing corroded away and I was able to get a couple fittings at the hardware store to fix it. If it would have been a hose or water pump who knows how long it would be till I could get parts

In my 57 years I have processed firewood for personal use for around 30 years. Those tools are great and I wish I had them years ago. I actually started laughing when you mentioned your daughter's car....not because that is funny but as you said, that is definitely real life. Been there many times. That is an awesome log splitter but I do have one question; how easy does it start when it is cold? My 30 year old TSC log splitter does not have a diverter valve so when you pull the cord to start the engine you're also turning the hydraulic pump. In the winter the pump doesn't like to cycle when the hydro fluid is thick causing the engine to kick back. It will literally almost tear my arm off when it does this. I have looked into a Super Split that uses a flywheel to drive the ram. But if course there are cons to their splitter also. The hydraulic lift and large table are awesome features. Great video.

I’ve only had this splitter for a week, so I can’t answer that yet. I was using a Champion homeowner grade log splitter until now. Thanks for watching

Random thing to mention, I run a 500i with a 28" bar, I use a milwaukee m18 saw with my magnetic marker for scoring. Much lighter, and easier on the ears. The milwaukee chains are garbage the oregon chains cost less and are much easier to sharpen.

I would say, I prefer the short handled hookaroon over the log ox in hauler form, only because it's kind of heavy. But I do have and use my log ox, I use it mostly as a cant and log jack.

Great video as always Brock. You showed some useful tools for sure. I have the logox and like it quite a bit. If a person is carrying a lot of wood with one I have always thought 2 would be optimal. Much like it easier to carry 2 five gallon bucket vs just 1. A log lift and cant hook are essential as well as the pickaroon. I also really like the trailer jack deal as well. That would be super handy to move something like a splitter around or other small trailers.

@oakiewoodsman we typically have a Hauler in each hand while yarding out logs. You're right it does balance you nicely. Since you have the Forester Package, you could do something similar with a Hauler in one hand and a PickOX in the other.

@@LogOXUSA appreciate the reply. I know this, I sure appreciate anything that can make firewood less strain on the body. I also like the new clips you have implemented. They look a bit more stout than previous versions if I recall correctly.
@LogOXUSA11 ай бұрын
@@oakiewoodsman yes they work a lot better, they're one piece with a locking clasp, instead of the old version that was a two piece clevis pin. We sell replacement packs of the new pins and also Hauler Upgrade packages on our site, which include the pins, longer handle, and Bigfoot timberjack attachment.

Is there a way to set the stroke length on the splitter? The cycle time would decrease if you could set it so it returns to 18" or 19" above the table.

What kind of wood were you splitting into the basket ? I love that log lift & the large work surface...what is the longest cant you can split ? Mine has a 24" max opening . Trailer caddy is an excellent idea ! pc
@RockhillfarmYT11 ай бұрын
I don’t know and a I don’t know I’ll take a measurement on the splitter. I think it’s probably closer to 20 inches. As far as the type of wood, I’m not great at distinguishing. 90% of what we have is oak but this wasn’t oak. It’s been sitting on the ground since last year, and most of the bark is off. Trying to remember what I have cut, Maybe that Hackberry
