Spinal decompression for herniated disc is a very common treatment approach. Disc herniations can cause low back pain or sciatica by pushing on a nerve root. If the disc is pushing on the nerve root this can cause burning or electric shooting pain down the leg. A common treatment for this is spinal decompression to take pressure off the nerve and allow the disc to rehydrate.
Many people will try inversion tables, or expensive treatment plans for the latest spinal decompression machines like the DRX9000 but still end up in the sane place! This is because they usually provide temporary relief which requires you to keep coming back! You need to learn exercises you can do on your own to put yourself in charge!
Here are 3 exercises you can do at-home to decompression your discs and relief sciatica from disc herniation!

fuck, I have exactly the same L5/S1 disc bulge. Do you think it may be related with the fact that the spine is too deep in the hip; my orthopedist said it may be related

You are explaining ways to do at home Traction not decompression. Traction gives temporary relief. There are no studies to back long term results like you stated in the beginning for the inversion (another traction device). Decompression has long term results. You do mention the DRX9000 and if people have said they did less than 18 visits they probably went to a untrained clinic because minimum treatment should be 18 visits based on all studies and they may have not been set up correctly if the doctor is not doing the proper analysis beforehand such as MRI reviews. We have done decompression for 19 years and see amazing results that last. These exercises are very good and helpful and we do recommend some of these at our office but they do not restore a disc. Just remember Traction and Decompression are 2 very different things.

Hey Doc what do you feel about Intradiscal injections? You are right, a lot of people have degenerative disc that have collapsed and causing inflammation so decompression is a temporary method.

Dear Dr. Elliott, thanks for your dedication with the free videos for the public. Regarding the video "3 Spinal Decompression Exercises for Disc Herniation and Sciatica!", I would like to suggest using a physio ball instead of the bar, or the kitchen counter or the table. By doing so, we save activating unnecessary muscles (in the hands), and we let the body, except the legs, resting on the ball as much time as desired, possibly while making movements with the lower part of the body. I find the physio ball as good for the upper back, while leaning on the palms of the hands instead of the legs, which are then in the air. Best wishes, Yigal

Dear Sir , i usually follow your tips and instructions. 5 months before i had a disc bulge at L4 L5 & S1 , and had a pain radiating in my left leg , after 2 weeks physio i became normal but after one month i started feeling pain on right leg. But the same exercises are not working and 3 weeks are done with physio but pain is not sattled , today doctor said you have spinal stenosis and it will take more time with the treatment. My leg is getting weak and can't sit in one position and can't walk as pain becomes worse . Please advise.

Im gomna watch tje whole video but i wanted to say ive had this before and somehow beat it. Took 2 years. Was fine for 1.5 years; just relapsed. Flare up. Major flare up. This one was worse than the first time. All my old tricks of decompression to get rid of the sciatica arent working. I just resorted to a decompression belt and it did give me some relief. My low back is all tight and stiff but id rather have that then the disc compressing the nerve. I think i know what i need to do. I hope. The first tthing is spine decompression. I cant do any stretyches or exercises unless that sciatica is under control and back at the source. I shouid mention i have L5-S1 bulge that is protuding. While the back is tight and stiff after decompression, i can then try to stretch And strengeten my hip flexors and my glutes. Med. Min. Psoas. Illac. QL. Get my core stabalized using mckenzie and McGill method. And breathe through my core. I figute i have about 1 to 2 hours after decompression to apply heat then do exercises and then cool down with ice and then hot bath. And then the hell starts the next day with sciatica. And i repeat this cycle until my muscles are strong enough to hold the decompressed state. I need ti get out of anterior pelvic tilt and fix my left aic pattern by concentrating on breathing first and foremost. This is my theory on how to get out of this hell and back to my life.

I am new to your channel and apologize if this has been addressed before. I have been diagnosed with a herniated L2-L3 and bulges at L3-4 and 4-5. I have been doing your exercises as well. I have long had an inversion table and not concerned with how it looks. What I am wondering is, is it dangerous to continue to use and does it have any long term benefits. Thank you for all you do.

It really isn't. Most SIJ is misdiagnosed, and if it is true SIJ, all it comes down to is core, hips, and low back. This is entirely manageable with proper online programming, which we do all the time! Use this link to book a call and we can talk about it! bit.ly/sciatica-youtube

Here’s the thing, why would I pay you when you don’t even answer peoples question here? Why would I trust that you would hold my hand through this difficult time as you say?
@rehabfix
@rehabfix 9 ай бұрын
Because we have 200 consultations a week and I don’t have time to answer every single comment on every single post on every single social media page I have. The reason I don’t reply to everything is because I’m busy delivering results. The very fact that I’m too busy to reply to every comment is because I deliver such a high quality product and am in such high demand. You should be worried if I had the time to respond to every comment. That means im not in demand and have nothing to do.
