Unbelievable what a generation of men, they probably flew over my grandfather in the 2/7 battalion 7 division.

@@bestestusername So very true, they did amazing work. FYI. My dad was also in 2/7th, he was, like so many, captured on Crete after the failed Greek campaign.

@WayneT51 my grandfather managed to get off Crete, was a rat of tobruk, was lost in the desert and "sold" back to the allies, bombed by his own side guarding an airfield, went to new Guinea got maleria after a couple of weeks and sent home. Poor bugger those guys were tough.
