Thank you for being so honest with these three steps - which in fact are just one big advice. For me watching videos on KZbin is a great possibility to see other artist work. And I always find a bit in those video that inspires me or gives me a clue where I can change my work. But I have to do it myself, over and over again. I have to deal with "failure" and with times where I seem to make no progress at all. And I have to carry on and then celebrate when things go where I want them to go. Long story short: There are no abbreviations to developing as an artist. 😉

@@utaloesken Improving as an artist is a slow process! Finding inspiration and little tips here and there make things easier. I try to distill bits of advice into my videos to try and speed up that improvement, so I hope they’re useful for you. Thank you for watching.

Great advice. Get outside with a sketchbook and really look, put the pen on the paper and move it. Show no one. Buy only the primary Color’s and mix away. The great Russel Chatham used the same palette and look what he did. Amazing work. But that was a lifetime of trial and error.

What people--or, what reasonably mature people--are looking for with a title like this is: What makes practice efficient? What makes the difference between deliberate practice that produces change with time, and just grinding away, spinning your wheels, never escaping the rut? Imo.
