This is some brilliant stuff. All these tips are invaluable and 100% make everything easier in the long run. 2:46 Diversity of auditory input is absolutely essential, not only to train one's ears but I personally try to look for people whose speech habits suit mine and those are the ones I use an an example of sorts. Thank you so much for this!!

Absolutely!! It always surprises me how just listening to a speaker influences our speech patterns so quickly! Anyone in particular whose speaking style you like?!

@@AmericanAccentMastery Exactly!!! Omg, so many people come to mind.... but I really love Jessica Lange's speaking style and Janet Jackson's. Both defy the "loud outgoing" American stereotype and they're articulate and well-spoken.

This is true, cuz at school it is really easy to understand the professors when they are talking because I'm looking at their faces, the same goes here on youtube. But when I'm watching a tv show sometimes I dont catch words and it is because they are moving or I'm not really looking at their faces since my tv isnt big. Thanks for those tips :)

Hi Nitin, thanks so much for your kind words! I'll be honest that acting really bubbly isn't my general personality, but even more so when I'm speaking to a camera! But I'll definitely keep this in mind:) All the best!

Hey, you were not kidding about making a video on research. I am ashamed to admit that I had not heard of the McGurk Effect until now. They say that you learn something new every day, and this must be my lesson for the day. Was Mr. McGurk a nerd? Was Ellen Langer a nerd? I might have misspelled her name.
@AmericanAccentMastery

Hi Gregory! It's neat, right?! Mr. McGurk was a cognitive psychologist, so I assume that he must have been at least part nerd;-) And Ellen Langer for sure- first woman ever tenured in psychology at Harvard! Long live nerds!!

Thank you for your tips!!! My job is in the customer service field. Some customers tell me ‘oh where’re you from?’ or ‘you have an accent’ and it makes me lose my confidence ☹️ I’m losing hope

Hi there! A lot of people in North America are curious about where someone is from- even if they are from the US! So try not to let that question get to you, though I know it can get old very quickly! I recently made a video about how to sound confident, did you see it? You might find it helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYiyfZxmq92KqdE Don't give up hope!! Wishing you all the best:-)

Hi there! I only currently work with local clients in my area. However, I do plan on changing things up later this year- I will make an announcement here on my channel:) Have you watched and implemented the recommendations in this video yet? If not, I strongly suggest you try it, it will almost certainly bring you to another level;) m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/qX3bnYOQmMZ_r7s
