such a great teacher. I hope you are well and will continue to guide students like this in the future.

When you repeated " Did you practice?", it sounded like rapping 😊 So rhythmical!

Great suggestions. After practicing American Accent for 3 months, I realized it is 'very' hard to develop the accent. It takes practice as you suggested. First practice the word and then sentences in American accent. I have slowly improved but it came ONLY by using atomic habits..by practicing 5 minutes consistently every day in last 3 months.

I'm just always blown away at how well you can articulate and explain (in words anyone can understand) things I've encountered on this journey and yet I didn't give them much of a second thought. Everything is kind of trial & error for me, I stick to the methods that give me results and discard those that don't. I've definitely attempted to compile some exhaustive lists of English words in the past, but I realized quite quickly it wouldn't get me anywhere... Also, LOL @ the YouGlish thing! I definitely fall into that trap more often than I'd like to admit. BTW, I wanted to ask you about your journey specifically (I apologize for an off-topic question). In the video before this one, you mentioned that you came to Canada when you were 4. That is extremely young, and I for one can hardly remember anything during that period in my life... I was wondering, however, if you were in some way cognizant of the fact you were hearing a "foreign" language spoken around you. And to what extent do you remember the process of your acquisition of English? I know I'm asking a lot - I'd wager everything happened very naturally and organically, but I'm curious about what the bilingual experience is like.

Victoria I m still applying your wonderful advise of listening podcasts at 0.5X and then repeating the phrases. It really has helped a lot my pronunciation. The best investment I made with your on-line classes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is really genuine advise! Time is quite valuable, and it is a shame to waste it on ineffective activities. So true! But you know what? I probably would have enjoyed analytical chemistry. I took only one chemistry course in my life. It was in high school. I thought that it was a blast!
@AmericanAccentMastery4 жыл бұрын
Haha, I also loved high school chemistry! Which is why I thought it would be a good idea to study biochemistry.. it wasn’t quite what I was going for;) Analytical chemistry was truly torture for me 😂😂

@@AmericanAccentMastery Here's an idea: when I finish my computer game that teaches foreign language skills, I will immediately get to work on a new version makes learning analytical chemistry fun!

I might have mentioned that my brother and I have considered the idea of making a computer game to teach foreign languages. Computer games are very engaging. If there were a way to make the challenges in the game educational (rather than just frivolous entertainment), then the player would learn something without feeling like they were consciously practicing or having to endure drudgery.

Gregory I think this is a fantastic idea and I couldn’t agree more! Games and gamification are the way to go!! I’ve been thinking about this concept for some time as well:-) best of luck!!

Hii! I find the same thing when I speak in French. At times I feel like a rockstar, at times, NOT! Do a lot of practicing out loud for situations that you're going to encounter, so that you can identify any gaps beforehand and prepare accordingly:) Best wishes!!

Thanks so much for your kind words! In terms of minimum time required, that’s a tough question to answer since it would depend on your desired outcome and how quickly you want to reach it. I would say that investing 20 minutes a day is a good starting point:)

Pozdrawiam serdecznie!
