Everything that seems logical to experienced climbers isn’t always obvious to the novice. Good tips 🤘

Feet hips hands. Early climbing if you remember to think in that order you will make smoother moves. And smoother moves will increase your technical skill faster. Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.

I learned early in climbing that using my legs and feet was super important (vs. relying almost entirely on your arms as many people start out doing), but watching a few seconds from your clip here I realized I'm still not paying nearly enough attention to my feet. Thanks for sharing!

Practice toe and heel hooks on easy climbs so that you’re comfortable using them on harder climbs

Most of the common beginner mistakes covered... I even see #1 with experienced climbers. One I would add is use your hips to get your centre of gravity directly above the primary driving foot.

Avoiding pullups is the most important one. It's an instant level up when you learn to use core and back muscles instead on overhangs.

My tip? If you see me at the comp, give up. Just hand me the prize right now. I taught Nalle Hukkataival every thing he THINKS he knows.

very nice tips! But the video keeps changing the climber's position, very hard to follow and easy to confuse beginner like me :(

is it normal that I've gone bouldering 10 times and I can confidently say I can do v3s and some v4s (v4s mostly on slab, v3's easy on both). Mind that prior to bouldering I was doing (and still do) calisthenics in terms of pullups, pushups, dips. I could do 10 pullups when I started.
@LatticeTrainingАй бұрын
Yeah I'd say that is quite normal. Your base line strength will fast-track your progress. But keep in mind there will also be climbers that can't do a single pull-up climbing V4 or V5. So work on climbing these V4's with as little physical effort as possible and let the technique do the work.
