Colour gets all the glory but value does all the work.

I love your artwork. Would love a video specifically on values, and how different colours have different value ranges.

Sharing your personal path to learning watercolor and your has been so encouraging and helpful. Getting caught up in completion, "success vs failure" and output rather than recapturing the satisfaction of the learning process is something I needed to be reminded of.

Thanks Matthew. I've watched many artists over the years but never quite understood how they achieved such results The first time I heard of the 3 stage method and using tonal sketches was from Andy Evenson, but you picked up on this seemingly simplistic idea and explained it's uses in depth. Your teaching methods are exceptional and so easy to follow. I recently purchased your Essential Watercolour course and find things coming together following this simple plan, which i revise before every session. :)

Value Consistency over results! This is what ALL beginners and others need to get in their heads. So many people want results that can only come from brush miles

On YT, I think value is not talked about enough. And how it’s way more important than color. It’s not snazzy or pretty, but I’m learning that understanding value is the “secret ingredient” that I’ve been missing in my practice.

Hi Adrian, I don’t. Maybe if someone was being overly rude or verbally abusive. Thankfully, everyone on my channel seems pretty friendly. Also, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t be able to view my video lesson. I’ve never had that issue before. I’ll see what I can find out for you.
